We decided to stay at the Hyatt because we wanted somewhere 'nice' for a combined anniversary/birthday getaway. We paid extra for a Club room including breakfast so we had high expectations. When we first arrived by car there were no doorman at the front of the hotel so we had to carry our bags out of the car and into the hotel. I wouldn't normally mind this but if I am staying at a 5 star hotel and paying 5 star prices then I expect this service. Once we had the bags inside, we waited almost 10 minutes to check in as there was only 1 person at the check in desk. They then queried how many would be in the room as they thought I had a rate for bed and breakfast for 1 not 2. They then neglected to tell us where our room was.
The room was one of the newer rooms and while it was clean and roomy, it certainly wasn't exceptional.
We had dinner at the restaurant and while the food was excellent the service, once again, let us down. We waited for some minutes to be seated by 'the host', we were then given menus by 'Waiter A' and left. 'Waiter B' poured us some water but didn't take our order. 'The Host' came and asked if we had any questions about the menu, we said no and he took the menus away - without taking out order! Waiter A never appeared again, so we eventually asked 'Waiter B' if we could have a drink and could they take our order. She was most apologetic but too late really!
Breakfast was quite ordinary - they ran out of orange and pineapple juice and it didn't get refilled for some time. Once again our cloak or invisability must have been on as they forgot to give us butter and forgot our coffee order.
The location of the hotel is good but for the money we paid I had much higher expections of the service and overall quality.
Most dissappointing......
