“Fun boat trip on Lake Burley Griffin”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 13, 2013

We went on the Jenny Anne for a one hour boat trip around the Lake, the skipper is a very nice man, a wealth of information & great with the kids, who get to steer the boat & receive a lollypop & certificate for their effort. Free tea & coffee & cold drinks on board. A very enjoyable boat trip and a bargain $40 for 2 adults & 2 kids.

While I appreciate that it is quite a long time after the event I feel that I must clarify the situation.
We operate two boats trading as Lake Burley Griffin Cruises which causes some confusion. There are several boats operating cruises on Lake Burley Griffin and the Jenny Anne belongs to one of the other operators. Although it is nice to get the positive response for that boat credited to us we did not actually earn it.

“Worth it”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 30, 2012

We went abroad Jenny Anne thru canberracruises.net.

Was really good way to get an overview of major buildings and highlights of Canberra.

The captain was relaxed and pleasant man.

“Skipper Garnet”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 30, 2012

Haven read great reviews about him, we decided to go with him. We were not disappointed. He was a nice, personable person, highly informative about his "home town" and obviously proud of it and it showed in the stories he told on his cruise.

Great fun!

“Great - must do this”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 2, 2012

We went on a small boat called the 'Jenny Anne' I think. She was formerly from Hobart. Her captain Steve was great and friendly and was really good with our 3 and 5 yo children. He gave out soft drinks and had a treasure chest the kids could play with. The kids also were able to steer the boat and were given a certificate and lolly pop as a reward when they finished. The only down side was that they required cash for payment, and didn't have credit card facilities which meant we actually missed the first cruise we wanted to go on, whilst we went in search of an ATM that worked.

We certainly appreciate the positive report from the cruise on the Jenny Anne, However we didn't earn it the Jenny Anne doesn't belong to Lake Burley Griffin Cruises. It is one of several boats that provide tour services on Lake Burley Griffin but it is operated by Canberra Lake Cruises.

“One word: rubbish”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed May 24, 2012

I was on school camp and I went on the merry anne. Firstly, the captain was really mean, if you walking more than one cm per year he would yell at you, the boat was dodgy and old, we didn't go to the main bit of the cruise and we weren't allowed to use the toilet. I would rate it a 1 out of 10.

Thank you for your report on the "Marry Anne" as you called it. Unfortunately there is some confusion between a cruise on Lake Burley Griffin and our registered business name Lake Burley Griffin Cruises. there are actually 4 independent licensed operators on the lake wit 5 different boats. We suspect that the boat you referred to as the Merry Anne is in fact the Jenny Anne and it belongs to one of the other operators. They trade as Canberra Lake Cruises.
It is a pity that I took so long to realise that we had reports on Traveladvisor or we would have attended to them earlier.
