Not far away from Cockington Green Gardens is Adore Tea.
As owner of the store puts it, the Adore Tea room is “The destination for tea lovers”. Both a tea place (for High Tea) and a place that sells tea! With over 250 blends of tea to choose from, how can you not be excited?
We got seated outside because at the time there was a very comfy jazz band playing (Jack Ray Trio), just doing some covers and all. The menus arrived and the waitress was very helpful in explaining how it all works, apparently one menu JUST for the tea blends, and the other for the food. The time had reached to about 2 or 3pm, so we decided something light to save our stomach for a hearty dinner. There were only a few savoury items but a whole heap on sweet. The sweets selection ranged from the tiers cakes/ scones treats to macaroons to muffins etc. Some packages includes tea and they were around $30+ pp.
Quite frankly there were only 3 items for savoury and we chose 2.
The first was “The Dips”. The dips had Hommus, one that had potatoes and chives, and a spicy one! All served with their corresponding crackers: Water Cracker, Spiced Rice Cracker, Plain Cheese Cracker (like Jaz). There were also two bread sticks like-biscuits!
The second item ordered was a Potatoe and Chives soup, served with cream, salt, pepper and flowers Awww, what a good way to warm up the hearts on a cool breeze day. It was fantastic!
The finale….is the TEA of course! From memory the selections included all kinds of variations or should I say derivatives of the main branches i.e. Lady Grey, Darjeeling Red, Darjeeling Green, all kinds of “Breakfasts” like Australian, Irish, English etc.. There is also the herbal & fruit selections and the Chai. We decided on the Darjeeling Green.
