“Visiting Canberra over Christmas”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 13, 2014

This property was wonderful. The staff couldn't do enough to help you out. The restaurant was very well priced and the food was wonderful. Everything was maintained well. I know when we return to Canberra we will not hesitate in booking this place again.

Room Tip: We stayed in the 2 bedroom villas

Brilliant customer service. On the first night we stayed there I went to the reception just on the off chance they had a phone charger and she brought out a whole box full of them.
I must say that this was probably 10x more comfortable and relaxing than any other place I would have gone in canberra. The pools are an oasis out the back which was quite a nice surprise.
We stayed in the Ridgeview cabin because we wanted separate rooms - one for my mother and one for myself, my wife and room to fit a porta-cot in the bedroom (just fit :)). It went well. Also it's fairly close proximity to things too.

I stayed here in January 2014 and the place was lovely. Helpful staff, basic amenities, comfy beds and the villa we were in was well supplied, with even a coffee pod machine. Would definitely recommend this if you're looking for nice, basic accommodation.

We were all adults and my parents are very noise sensitive -- it was a very quiet park and we all slept very well.

Room Tip: No extra advice, the rental rooms all seemed of high quality.

We chose the basic Acacia cabin which had a queen bed and four bunk beds but, had we been a family of six it would have been very crowded. It was equipped with cooking facilities and kitchen tools etc and the shower room had shower, sink and toilet but not much room to move. There was asinine table and six chairs but they were basic for meals and we missed having a comfortable chair to relax on. Free wi-fi us advertised but, in practise, impossible to connect to but the friendly
staff at Reception have a desk top computer and printer for guest use. There is a very good laundry for 5 dollars a load with clothes lines and dryers available and ironing facilities in the cabins. The restaurant is adequate and we had evening meals there but did not have breakfast there as we self catered for that. It is just a few minutes from the city centre but could have been miles away as we were entertained with parrots, cockatoos, magpies and kookaburras while we
watched kangaroos watching us through the fence. In addition to the cabins there are larger bungalows and also camping facilities. There are several tracks for bush walking and a swimming pool to ease aching muscles after those exertions. This was fine for a few days but ,even for two, the cabin was a bit small and we would choose a larger one in retrospect.

Room Tip: Our friends booked a Grevillea' cabin which was larger and nicely laid out but expensive.

A beautiful tourist park that surround by Australian bushy forest where you can get a great chance to see wildlife in the morning like hares, cockatoos, wallabies and so on around the park. They have very friendly and humorous staff. Despite the hotel room wasn't very up to expectation, but overall it's still a great place to stay. Besides you can observe a lot of stars shining in the beautiful night sky with cooling weather, that's what I love the most about this hotel during spring season. The restaurant in the hotel provide very normal food and beverage, nothing really special. In spite the location isn't very near to the city centre but the surroundings and environment is what I like the most where you can really relax yourself and get away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

We spend two days in Canberra. We booked double bed room which was quite big. Bathroom was poor, but it was clean and new. We also had parking in front of the room.

In general nothing special, if you need a place to sleep over is perfect. The price was a bit high since we booked one day before arrival

We looked for accommodation for 4 adults and 2 children and finally booked this particular place as it was the cheapest for 6 people and 2 nights in Canberra as per the website booking.com
They do charge $20 bond for keys but if you don't have cash they just secure it with your credit card and don't charge anything (unless you lose your keys).

Pros:
- nice pool, spa and a separate pool for children
- tennis court
- the cabin wasn't shiny but quite clean and as described on their website
- clean towels and linen included
- clean small bathroom
- 10 mins of driving to the city center

Cons:
- bedrooms are small
- free WiFi wasn't working, used my USB 3G dongle for Internet access
- cafe/shop are expensive and bad choice, but there are 5-7 mins of driving to the shopping center and you can cook food yourself

Overall, the place is definitely overpriced for what you getting there. However, I couldn't find anything cheaper for 6 people and relatively close to the center.
