“Needs a refurbishment”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2013

Stayed whilst travelling between Melbourne and Sydney. Sadly the poorest accommodation during a 10 day stay in Australia. Staff very friendly. Apartment cold with a very tired bathroom. Located near to a number of restaurants which was handy.

Stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment recently and while it was quite spacious, if you have ever been to Canberra in winter you will appreciate how cold it can get! The room we had was quite drafty & cold, even with the heating on 30 all night, so we had to block the doorways with towels to stop the cold air getting in.

The bathrooms are quite old & the grout around the showers & spa bath show age & discoloration which is off putting, because it makes the hotel look dirty however bathrooms were very clean.

Good facilities - everything you need to cook a meal, and do washing if need be. There is also a spacious lounge & dining area great for families.

Overall an average, comfortable stay.

Room Tip: Construction on the north side of the building, if you don't want to be woken early ask for a ro...

We booked this venue for an overnight stay in Canberra on the basis of a reasonable Wotif rate. We were there to attend a Raiders game at Bruce stadium and didn't do any walking around to the nearby Manuka or Kingston shops.

We stayed in a two-bedroom apartment, which was perfect for myself and three boys. While we didn't stay for all that long - arriving at around 3pm to quickly drop off our belongings, and then back in for the night after the game at around 9pm - the place suited us well.

It had a self-contained kitchen (which we didn't really use), an excellent bathroom, foxtel, lounge, and comfortable single beds with what seemed to be fresh doonas and soft pillows. The heating was sufficient for us not to feel the near-zero outside temperature, and the underground lock-up carpark was handy with the nearby lift - we were on the top floor of three.

The 8 year old had trouble sleeping (perhaps over-excitement from the Raiders victory), and there could perhaps have been a few biscuits and some more milk available in the unit, but otherwise, it did the job and seemed reasonable value for money. Subject to the sort of deal you are able to get, I can see it being a good option for a longer family stay in the nation's capital.

Stayed in a two bedroom apartment on a family weekend holiday. Extremely good value for a last minute booking, with clean and tidy rooms with everything you would need for a short to medium term stay. Nothing fancy and some of the bathroom amenities could be due for an upgrade, but everything worked and was pleasant to use. Fantastic location on the main road in Kingston with Manuka a short walk away. The reception staff were helpful and friendly with an efficient and easy system for late check in (no 24 hour reception).

The apartment is very clean - except for quilt cover which was stained with dirt in one corner. The quilt is very thin due to its age and not sufficient for Canberra autumn night. Not a great experience to have to pull off quilt cover at 11pm and source replacement after the reception is closed.

In general has everything you need for a short 2 night stay but the fittings are very tired - early 90's pastels in kitchen and bathroom. Cracked tiles in bathroom and mould in grout and shower screen but once again due to age not lack of cleaning.

Would caution against longer stay than 2 nights as beds hard as a concrete slab and king bed is really 2 singles clipped together with deep groove in the centre. Forget romance! You would get lost in the abyss!

We have stayed here many times over the last few years. The appartments are located in between Kingston and manuka. Kingston this time seemed a little tired with many shops closed. Manuka on the other hand was bustling with shops, cafes and restaurants. There is a Coles supermarket there so you can stock up on supplies to take back to the appartments.

The apparents are reasonably spacious and are very clean. Your towels can be replaced each day during a minimal clean. The appartments are equipped with enough equipment to cook a basic dinner. There is also a BBQ on the property. There is an oven microwave and dishwasher which helps to make life more enjoyable on holidays. Also there is a washing machine and dryer too.

We did eat out at the bistro in the east lakes FC which is only a 5 minute walk away. Great bistro with good sized meals at reasonable prices.

My only advice is to take with a grain of salt any promises to allocate rooms together. We have had promises made each time we have made a booking and when we get to reception this is not the case. We were very lucky that they upgraded us to a 3 bedroom appartments this time so we could be just up the stairwell from our friends not 8 apparments away.

We did get a good rate booking directly through their website as they had a sale on.

Room Tip: Ground floor rooms have a little courtyard

Recently spent 5 days in 2 bedroom apartment at Medina. Very comfortable rooms with fully self-contained kitchen, etc. Staff very friendly and helpful and undercover parking was ample.
These apartments are in a great location. Close to Kingston and Manuka shops, hotels and great restaurants. Also easy access to Canberra's National Gallery, Parliament House, War Memorial & other tourist attractions. Would stay again.
