I have in front of me a new souvenir of our Australian trip. We were told about the traffic cameras, and how some states were more strict than others. But the Traffic Infringement Notice in front of me says that we were alleged to be going 75 km/h in a 70 km/h zone in Dandenong three months ago. We have been fined $142 Aus. plus one demerit point. It has only just arrived at my canadian address, and must be paid within the month, or further costs will be incurred. Just thought that tourists need to be reminded that driving vast distances in this great country can have expensive consequences if you are looking at the scenery and not looking at every speed sign. Imagine what this fine might have cost if the error had been greater?
