“Beautiful setting”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 2, 2012

We stayed in one of the attic suites which was wonderful. It had a large living room and a bedroom, very cute! Great views from both rooms. The staff was very helpful with lots of recommendations for food, etc. They don't have a restaurant menu during off season, but the staff was happy to make us salads, cheese platters, etc. :-) They have a great jetty for sunbathing. You really can't beat the views and the location! I loved being just out of town, but a short cab ride or nice walk to the main tourist area of Kotor. They also make a fantastic cherry brandy! :-)

I had expectations - I made reservation for one night on B&B basis - It was expensive but I had great expectations from staying at a real palace.

This place is not handicapped friendly because it has many stares everywhere.

Once you get over the staires (no elevators) the suite we received was beatiful - two spacious rooms very nicely decorated. But it is very hot and humid in this season - the air condition unit that was located in the coridor between the romms didn't deliver - it was hot and humid although we used the airecondition in it lowest temperature.

Breakfast was a real disappointment - very basic - if you want special coffe (espresso or capoucino) you have to pay extra, there were no variety of choices - 2 kinds of hard cheese, yougort,2 kinds of cereals, and two kinds of cold cuts, eggs made to your request, fruits (grapes and apples) but No vegtables,

They have theire own beach (which is a sort of cocrete peir with lounge chaires and sunshades).

At the bathroom there is no curtain so when you take a shower everywhere get wet.

They have a well equipped gym and sauna, and beatiful sea view.

I am not coming back.

It is the setting of this hotel which is its real selling point. Quite simply stunning. The views from the rooms are breathtaking and if you are looking for an authentic yet incredibly stylish hotel from which to base your holiday then this is it. It oozes charm and class and is truly romantic - and the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful.

Although a little disappointing from the road frontage, that memory quickly fades as you walk down the steps into the main courtyard.

Don't worry about there being no on-site restaurant there are fabulous restaurants within easy strolling distances and infact this added to the whole holiday experience.

My only comment would be a limited amount of space for sunbeds does lead to 'towels laid out at dawn' which can be a little stressful/frustrating but it is one drawback in an otherwise perfect destination for couples.

Probably not one for young children but a firm recommendation for everyone else.

It was an absolute pleasure to have stayed at this hotel. The location, rooms and staff were all fantastic. I look forward to coming back again.

The rooms are spacious and have all that you need to be comfortable for a long or short stay. The free morning yoga classes were an added bonus and really helped with the relaxation.

The hotel is a long walk to town but fairly easy which is where all the restaurants and bars are (not a lot around the hotel).

If you're looking for a place to party then this hotel is not for you.

Room Tip: Try to get a room with a view of the bay (at the front).

This place has it all, a beautiful traditional stone built hotel built on the water close enough to Kotor to explore the gorgeous UNESCO town, but far enough away to relax and retreat to when you have had enough. The hotel is located 4km from Kotor and is approximately 5-7euros in a taxi should you want to go in to town for dinner. Rooms vary in price, but mostly have wonderful water and mountain views. Our room was very clean with a good laundry service should you require it. There is a small gym, but running is also very pleasant and safe on the road that runs along side the water, you can run right the way to Kotor and back if you fancy it. When we were there, there was free yoga and pilates every morning on the terrace. Breakfast is varied and delicious in a sweet little breakfast room, fruits, breads, yoghurts and cooked breakfast all on offer.

Opposite the hotel are there private loungers once the heat of the midday sun hits and sightseeing becomes too much. It's a beautiful location and you can go swimming straight into the lake from here. Kayaks are also available to rent from the hotel for a nominal charge.

The staff here are really pleasant and welcoming, nothing is too much trouble. Really a great place to stay for families and couples alike in a fantastic location. A definite recommendation and brilliant find.

Room Tip: Ask for a water view, although I think most rooms have them.

We had the pleasure of staying in this magnificent hotel for 8 nights, celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary here with our three children (young adults) and a friend. Not only is it one of the most beautiful settings in the world for a hotel, it is the most authentic travel experience we have had. It is truley remarkable that the owners have managed to maintain the integrety and magnificence of this magestic building and have obviously worked hard to fill the hotel with authentic (and highly functional) furniture befitting of time and region. We had three rooms, a huge room with bedroom, bathroom and sitting room (with three couches, a great place for the family to gather), and another family room with a large bedroom, bathroom and smaller bedroom, and a superior double bedroom all with super views, great fixtures, airconditioning and a great touch of elegance. The rest of the hotel, front patio with seating, bar and sitting area, workout room, breakfast room, roof top dinning area, lounge area, swimming pool and patio, waterfront jettie were all fantastic and had a air of old world class and elegance to it.
The area surrounding the hotel and the access to incredible dinning, sightseeing, kyaking, road tripping, hiking ect. was superb.
One of the most special things about this hotel is the unbelievable service that the staff provides 24/7. Everyone was so helpful, friendly, accomodating and generous with their time. Wheather it was an inpromptude afternoon lunch on the front patio or a meal of our choosing for dinner, the staff did all they could to make our experience as special, unique and authentic as possible. The food was fantastic and full of regional specialties, variety and prepared and served with the upmost of care. Any accomodation that they could make to allow us to enjoy our visit was made, ie: music on the roof top dinning area for our anniversary, special dishes, late night discussions with the owners and staff about history, etc. A truley overall delight. Beautiful and touching memories will remain with us, thank you for that.
We look forward to our next visit and particularly to spending more time with Ana, Zoran and staff in this beautiful, peaceful setting. A top level experience from begining to end!

We had a lovely few days at this hotel. It is a very romantic location (beautiful setting) and the hotel was a real luxury, for a good price. Comfortable and characterful rooms, welcoming staff, and great facilities - pool and gym. We loved relaxing by the sea, swimming in the pool and having a drink at the bar. Not to mention the incredible scenery.
