Stayed here two nights with a small tour group. Our room was on the same level as the reception desk, first room from the road. All night we heard the traffic zipping by on the highway that is 10 feet from the door of the hotel. In the day we heard the maids (I think) talking/shouting quite a bit. Maybe there are quitter rooms?? Our small balcony had a view of the hotel next door, so just 8 feet away we looked upon another balcony where guests would sit.
Odd room--no drawers to store clothes, just a set of cabinets with the upper cabinets so high that we stood on a chair to get to them. With this being a newer hotel, we were surprised there weren't more outlets for charging electronics. Free wifi, but it didn't always work so well and I eventually logged in as other rooms to find a better connection. The maid service was quick--they literally just flipped up the cover on our bed where it sort of half fell across the pillows.
Breakfast seemed sparse to us the first morning--some sliced tomatoes, cereal, toasted bread, and beverages. The cooks sat in the back chatting. As we finished, another couple came in (local) and spoke to the cooks who went into the kitchen and cooked them eggs. We later discovered that they would do this for anyone, though it would have been nice if they had told us on the first day.
It's a fairly decent hike to the old town--took us 25 minutes--so if this is where you plan to spend your time this hotel might not be ideal (they have a sister hotel right inside the old town though). But this location is just steps from the bay and areas of concrete where you can rent a chair or just sit on a towel and enjoy the spectacular views of the landscape. There are also excellent restaurants, a supermarket, and take out sandwich shops just a minute or two away. We enjoyed this residential feeling area--not touristy at all.
