“Yup, we brought great grandma too”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2013

What an amazing little B&B. stayed 2 nights and everything was lovely, Very well presented, clean and well stocked with tea, coffee and a cold water dispesnser (One of my highlights) Full english breakfast was piping hot, plenty of toast, cereals and huge bowls of fresh melon and pineapple. We used 3 rooms, comfortable beds, My gran had a four poster! One twin room with ensuite and a side room, all very clean and not over filled with things, As my room wasnt ensuite I used the two bathrooms on the landing, One has a shower, one has a Half bath. Very clean but remember some slippers as that cold tile floor is quite a sharp shock in the morning lol. The hosts are amazing, practically putting the kettle on as we drove up the drive. Very Knowladgeable on the area espically for my grand who had been based at the RAF camp nearby over 50 years ago. Highly recomended.

Room Tip: If your like me and my farther, note that if your tall alot of bending will be required to get under...

we had a nice one night stay here to break our journey on way back up to Glasgow from southern England, it had everything we required for our stay although we had a problem trying to get a picture on the tv,maybe a problem with the satellite reception. The hosts were most hospitable and keen to supply us with any information we needed about surrounding area, we ate at the pub along the road, the white swan, which was very good value for money and following morning had a very enjoyable breakfast.

We just stayed one night here to break up a long car trip north.

Sue warmly greeted us with offers of tea and coffee.

The room was clean and comfortable, the only downside being the poor water pressure of the shower. The wi-fi was great though, very fast and reliable.

The breakfast was great and I'd recommend the B&B to others.

A one night stay and it was excellent. A lovely welcome with tea and home made cake, a beautiful room with a very comfortable four-poster bed and a really superb breakfast. Just a minor quibble - the shower was definitely not a power shower!

Sue and Will were so welcoming, tea on arrival, good sized room, clean linen etc. plenty of space for the pair of us and the dog. Off road parking.

Close proximity to Lincoln and Newark

The breakfast was excellent, freshly cooked and generous.

Pub just down the road can offer a reasonable and well priced dinner

Will be back, everything you want in a B&B at this good price.

We were welcomed with a pot of tea and homemade cake by the very friendly owners. The room was light, airy, spotlessly clean and warm. Breakfast was amazing. We would certainly recommend Wilmot House to other travellers and look forward to staying again should we be in the area.

Sue and Bill are excellent hosts and cannot do enough to make their guests feel at home. The house is spotlessly clean and has everything one might need for a one-night or longer stay. Inevitably an old house has its quirks so beware of low doors and the bedroom floor that slopes at a considerable gradient (in room 1, at least). Also not all rooms have room to install en suite facilities but this was made clear when booking and the price reflects that.

Breakfasts were splendid and the tin of cake awaiting our return every afternoon was an unexpected bonus!

The house is easy to find, provided you drive slowly through Dunham-on-Trent (and everyone should do that, given the narrow and winding main road). The White Swan, on the next corner, is as far as you need to go for an excellent, very reasonably priced evening meal. Sue and Bill will be happy to recommend other local eating places.

As far as the location is concerned, it is easy to reach Lincoln, Newark, Southwell, Worksop, Sherwood Forest and many other interesting places in half an hour or less and the A1 is only a few minutes distant. Again, Sue and Bill will not need asking twice to provide recommendations for places to visit.
