“One of the better small Air Museums”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 25, 2013

With the exception of RAF Hendon or Duxford this is one of the better small aircraft museums, a reasonable collection of aircraft including: Shackleton, Hastings & Vulcan, you can go in all three at differing times, and not all open on the same days. I have been in the Vulcan and the Shackleton in the past, but never been there when the Hastings has been open.
Two fairly big hangars with a lot of historic aircraft, including: Hunter, Javelin, Jaguar, Meteor, Vampire, Anson, Jet Provost, Gnat, Bucaneer etc and other buildings with engines and other component parts. More aircraft parked outdoors (as are the Shackleton, Vulcan & Hastings) including a Lightning & various foreign makes, Russian, Swedish, American etc.
Small reasonably priced cafe and a fairly extensive model shop.

“A great fun afternoon out.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 24, 2013

A great, fun, traditional afternoon out at the Newark Air Museum, which is now in it`s 40th great year.
It was our first trip and we both thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
There is a well stocked shop, excellent for all age groups, selling everything from ice creams to a large selection of model aircraft.
There is a small but excellent café on site too.
There are a great selection of aircraft both outside and in hangars. It concentrates mainly on aircraft from WW2 to the present day, with some great pieces, also a must for any cold war warriors out there.
The Vulcan was open with a member of staff giving short presentations inside the aircraft for 50p.
The whole site is wheel chair friendly and the staff are all welcoming.

Thank You air museum for a great afternoon out!

“nice couple of hours wandering”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2013

cheap enough entrance fee giving access to the whole area. arrived as it just opened and was walking passed the Vulcan bomber when they opened the cockpit. 50p each for a 10/15 minute talk from a very knowledgeable man. I would say there would be a long wait if busy but inside was fascinating. all planes in good order and a good walk round. plenty to look at along with a small café. (naafi) good attraction for kids of all ages!!!

“A decent museum”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2013

This was my second visit to the museum with a friend who was visually impaired, a little pricy, but plenty to see, lots of different aircraft, some in better condition than others, a fairly limited range of things for a visually impaired person to touch, maybe some of the displays could be updated. Brilliant to look around the Vulcan, even though I did wait over a hour to go inside, and paid another 50p to go in, well worth looking around, even if you are not a aircraft fan, a good museum.
