“Well worth a visit !”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2013

A fabulous collection of well cared for historic aircraft, mostly UK military from the 1950's onwards. With a smattering of military aircraft from other countries, including Russia, Sweden and the USA.
The whole site is pristine and though difficult to maintain the larger outdoor displayed aircraft only show limited signs of weathering.
Run largely by volunteers as a charity, so do not forget to gift aid your entry if you are a UK tax payer. There is a cafe and a well stocked shop with large numbers of aircraft models and other memorabilia.
My favourite aircraft on display were the Avro Shackleton, Fairey Gannet and English Electric Lighting which was looking very smart having been repainted.

“The largest private air museum in the country.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2013

Every time I visit i can see the improvements. Two large hangers, a cafe, rare airframes and all sited on a genuine WW2 airfield. I believe it also has the largest collection of Meteor aircraft in the UK

“A good day out”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2013

As a wheelchair user, I found this an easy place to navigate and was made to feel welcome by the volunteers who run the museum. A new hangar has been added since my last visit many years ago so it makes for quite a large site to get around.
Loads of aircraft and cockpits on display, many of them indoors. A good, well stocked shop is supplemented by a small cafe selling a small selection of hot and cold food. Many aircraft museums don't have this facility so it made a pleasant change.
Lighting in the hangars was from natural lighting through skylights. Electric lighting wasn't required during my visit on a nice sunny day although it might have helped in one or two dim corners of one of the hangars.
Volunteers were on hand to answer questions and one was very chatty and humurous with his descriptions. Many thanks to all the volunteers who run this great museum, keep up the good work.

“A welcome visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 2, 2013

Our visit to Newark Air Museum was a very pleasant afternoon; the weather was kind to us; the excitement of the afternoon was to see the Vulcan sited; what a wonderful air craft. Also other good varieties of aircraft and other exhibitions of interest.
