“Nongsa Village for peace & quiet”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2013

Perfect village for a relaxing holiday. The Villa's are delightful.

It is not a holiday village for people needing to be constantly entertained with games, restaurants, bars etc... it is purely for relaxation and enjoyment. Lots of walking, great swimming pool, a walk out to the jetty early morning is a must and some people also go fishing.

We have always enjoyed our time there. The staff are excellent and always helpful.

Nongsa Village is only 30 mins by ferry from Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal in Singapore. Advise staff of ETA by ferry and the shuttle bus will pick you up for the short drive to the village.

Take food & drinks with you or have meals at Turi Beach Resort OR Nongsa Point Marina.

I did note one of the comments below:

"Quite dissapointed to the bridge that connected to Turi Beach, the bridge was broken so we couldn't go to Turi beach from Nongsa village beach. In their webiste, nongsa village sister is nongsa marina point and turi beach and mentioning we can use the facilities (swimming pool, gym, sport, etc) in both places but you must pay. It's not free!!!.... "

The comment is not entirely true. Yes, the walkway along the beachside between Nongsa Village and Turi has been damaged due to high waves. It WILL be repaired at a later date when monies are available.

But you can still walk to either of the resorts via the roadway, very easy walk.

OR ... request the Shuttle Bus at a cost of about $3:00 SGD if you can't walk.

and YES, guests staying at Nongsa VIllage can use the facilities (pool etc) at Turi Beach Resort and Nongsa Point Marina. There is NO CHARGE. Well in all the five years we have been going there, there has never been any charge at anytime.

will uploaded images so travelers can see what Nongsa Village looks Like.

Room Tip: Beachside is nice. :)

We were there for a work stint and stayed in a 3 room-chalet on the second floor with steep staircase. The floor was dusty and so was the sofa in the living room. We found the pillows underneath the white cases stained and they came in different sizes for the room with the queen size bed. The bath tub had a slab of concrete leaning against the broken part. The whole apartment was infested with lizards and ants. One evening when we were back at the apartment, we were shocked to discover the trash outside the apartment was rummaged, and when we called the receptionist about it we were told it must be the act of the monkeys. She even audaciously asked "Do you want us to clean it up now?" When if not now? At times, there was even no one attending the reception desk that we were forced to walk a distance of about 15 minute just to get to the front desk to make request for things. Maybe the more expensive villas were getting better service, judging from how much nearer they were to the front desk. totally DO NOT recommend the apartments at block A/B/C. The photos and the lobby were utterly deceiving. We stayed for a week before we moved to Batam View Resort Hotel. The room, though smaller, was way cleaner and more comfortable. We needed that badly since we were often tired at the end of a long day at work.

Room Tip: Just avoid the apartment blocks A/B?C etc...

the best way to get to this resort is via Nongsa Ferry Terminal. do inform the staff of your arrival time as they have free shuttle service. its just a short drive from the terminal.

me and my boyfriend went there for a 2day 1night getaway. they have a nice (and long) jetty that you can chill at. there is a shelter in the middle and at the end, u can see Turi Beach's jetty and a nice view of Singapore. there are monkeys near the jetty so be wary not to show them that u have food with u.

the place is pretty secluded. so it is very quiet. part of the place are residential so u can see a few residents chilling out in the day. just give them a wave and a big smile. they are pretty friendly.

if you want to eat, i suggest u let the reception know before they close for the day. yes there is no 24-hour service there. after office hours, u need to go to the guard house.

the two of us had dinner at Nongsa Marina. we had the reception staff book in advance for us. the price is pretty steep and the food wasnt fantastic. i suggest u go to the nearby seafood that the staff recommend.

we bought some groceries to last the night and morning at Nongsa Marina's mini supermart.

the resort itself is very nice and clean. with the exception of a minor honeybee infestation in the kitchen area. we had no idea where they came from as we had all doors n windows closed.

the bugs didnt bother us so we didnt bother them and they died off eventually.

overall, its a nice place. but i suggest going there as a family to liven things up.

Lovely timber villas scattered on the hill. Very quiet and more of a getaway for Batam expats and Singaporeans . Most villas are owned actually. You'll need to do a bit of walking to get around. There were no mozzies when we were there but best to prepare just in case. We brought food after reading the reviews but ended up eating most of the time at Turi Beach which is a neighbouring hotel. Food was good but there were flies. You get to use the facilities in Turi and Nongsa Marina which was great. 3 for the price of one so we spent little time at the villa actually. The beach at Turi was the best and you can actually walk from Nongsa Marina to Turi via a path. You can get from one place to another with the hotel transport too. Breakfast was served at Nongsa daily. Lovely place for a few days getaway especially since it is far from the madding crowd. The spa at Turi is a makeshift one at the moment as it is under reno hence the low rating. But the massage was good nonetheless.

The website should have warned us. So this is my warning to new guests.
There is nowhere to get food, so if you do not have transportation - go somewhere else. We arrived in a taxi (100,000 idr from Batam Centre) and were told to go buy our own groceries and cook in the villa. The nearest supermarket is 9 km away!
You can walk over to Turi Resort for dinner, but it nearly killed my wife walking up and down 3 hills (bridge is still broken) in 32 deg. C - luckily we had a ride back by the friendly staff of Turi Beach. A simple dinner was 800,000 idr for 5 adults. (in a food court Golden Land in Batam we paid 350,000 idr for an excellent sea food meal for 5)
The surroundings are nice, villas have everything, are clean, everything works - except cleaning - and drinking water was not supplied on a daily basis (normally you get one bottle a day), so better bring a lot.
You feel like this is the end of the world - we literally did not see anyone, but a few squirrels and sparrows. Bring your children or grandchildren to give the place a bit of life.

the first impression to this place made me feel angry. the receptionist "lady" who answered my call made me angry (It was on 22nd Jan 2012 at 16.15). what kind an attitude to customer, she was not very friendly and so emotionally answering my question (i booked already the villa). I just thought that she just got on her "period" ...how come the management didn't train their crew....huh!

Because of i already booked this place, i just went there. The villa is nice and peaceful and very quite. I and my family could enjoy the swimming pool, like our own swimming pool and also the beach.

the beach is not so clean, there are spoiled oil or fuel, so i decided not to swim in the beach instead of swimming and got the spoiled oil attached to our body. but you can see many shells and small crab, and also sea weed. the fish jetty is quite nice, we could see the fish and fishing.

Quite dissapointed to the bridge that connected to Turi Beach, the bridge was broken so we couldn't go to Turi beach from Nongsa village beach. In their webiste, nongsa village sister is nongsa marina point and turi beach and mentioning we can use the facilities(swimming pool, gym, sport, etc) in both places but you must pay. It's not free!!!....

Room Tip: ask for the room nearby swimming pool and beach.
