Yengec Restaurant, a low profile looking venue at Urla iskele among fish boats and nets is definetly one of the best choice for seafood for reasonable prices. Once you choose your table you have to visit the seafood and meze displays located at both sides inside the restaurant. But beware! Do not get excited with the overwelhming display of innumerous mezes and overdo . First go to the back of the store to choose cold starters. Besides all the regular ones where you can find everywhere here you have a choice of tasting local delicasies like greenaries simply boiled and served with lemon juice and olive oil. You can get help from the friendly staff for the seasonal mezes. I had been there in early june and had local sevketi bostan with butter trust me it was heavenly and Urla is one of the few places you can find this plant. We also had stuffed zucchini flower which was fresh, same for the stuffed mussels. The seafood mezes and fish choosen from another display in the store offers many unique choices. All but the sardines which were out of sesson then were excellent . So make sure you ask for in season fish when picking yours. It is also good to know before hand what you are going to pay for your fish since it is weighed and calculated infront of you. The wine selection was good and the beers were cold to perfection. A good bread and olive oil to dip is brought to table while you wait for your order to get prepared. To top all these I would strongly recommend hashasli revani, a delicious dessert. The mastic pudding served with ice cream was also one of the best I had. For all the attentive service and the feast you pay half of what you may pay at Cesme twenty minutes away. We had four cold, four hot mezes two fish dishes to share with drinks desert and coffee paid 55 TL per person inc tip. Trust me we over did it, could have ordered less but like I said you can easily loose control while choosing .Rezervation is a must since the place is always packed. Parking should not be a problem many streets around and can easily use public transportation since it is in the center of Urla Iskele.
