“Can't wait to return!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2014

We drove up the hill and saw the Inn as the sun was setting. We knew immediately that this would be a completely new experience. Sean greeted us on our arrival with a very welcoming attitude and all the information we needed to enjoy our stay. Our room, the Pondview Room was at the far end of the Inn, with window views on three sides, each wonderful in its own way. There is a very unique layout to the room as well as to the Inn itself. The room opens into the sitting area, 2 cozy chairs and a book shelf/open closet area. Then the stairs to the terrace and bed loft with views of the pond and the surrounding woods and mountains. We were delighted to see that most of the products in the Inn were products of Vermont and eco-friendly, the soaps, shampoo, breakfast foods, etc. All delightfully available and making for a wonderful stay. We will certainly return to this very relaxing and enjoyable Inn.

We emphatically did NOT want a cutsey quilty victoriana stuffed B&B. I was thrilled to find this cool place. We loved the modern and eco-friendly architecture: our room, the Stargazer, was like a little treehouse hideaway, cozy and comfortable. We were within easy distance to Manchester, Stratton, Okemo, Bromley or Magic Mountain and we even took a trip upstate to the Montshire Science Museum. The breakfast was great! It was a very sweet and relaxing getaway.

Room Tip: Our room, facing south, was very warm until the temps dropped after a snowstorm, then it was great...

Green Features: I was totally impressed with the thought and conscientiousness that went into this place. It was refreshing and added to my relaxation because I didn’t have to worry about my carbon footprint!

This was my first stay at an eco-friendly Bed & Breakfast and I enjoyed it very much! My partner & I stayed in the Stargazer room. We loved it!! The room itself is one of the smallest, according to their website, but I'm glad I picked it because it has a very interesting layout: sitting area and balcony when you first walk in, stairs on the left leading up to a loft area. Very different than any other room we've ever stayed in. Great bathroom with lots of natural light & tall windows! The room is in very close proximity to the dining room area. Good breakfast (one hot cooked item usually, cereal, yogurt, coffee & juice). Beautiful grounds!! I would definitely return for a repeat visit.

We stayed at a stone wall inn the past two nights. The rooms were really cool, the location is beautiful, the manager Sean was available if you have questions, and breakfast was delicious. The area is great if you like to explore! We shopped in Manchester, Vt and visited a dairy farm for cheese samples yesterday. Wish we had more time here!

A very unique place----although a bed & breakfast, you still feel that you have your own space and some privacy. Sean was kind and helpful, breakfast was delicious! I would definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: We had the Overlook room, no complaints

This place is really unique. We arrived at night so we didn't get the full experience until morning. The owner/ architect was on-site that day and we got to meet him at breakfast. If you're interested in architecture this place is like an architect's playground. The architect was more than happy to tour us around the grounds and various buildings, telling us lots of stories about how it was built and how different aspects of the building came to be. It was fun and definitely inspiring.

For those who aren't interested in architecture it's still a fun and unique place to visit. We loved the lofted bedroom, which felt like a cozy nook. If you can, try to arrive before dark as you'll get a better overview of the place, and it'll be a little easier to find.

Our only complaint would be the breakfast, which was good, but minimal by usual bed and breakfast standards. Still, we can't complain, we used a Groupon and felt like we got an amazing deal overall.

We had a great time at a Stonewall Inn. It is unlike any place we've ever stayed. Everything was very comfortable and the breakfast was delicious. It was dead quiet which was a great escape from the city noises. The view was perfect and we were able to spend several hours in the lounge playing board games.

Room Tip: All the rooms are different , the website has great descriptions and 360 photos so you can choose th...
