We chose this hotel for our stay for our wedding and honey moon after. However, we had our wedding on the other side of the island because of the stunning sun set views this hotel's side couldn't offer. The hotels was amazing, well designed, rooms were very spacious, clean, with excellent views. The bed was very comfortable, large, loved the pillows! Bathroom was very clean, huge, with great shower and separate bathtub. When we arrived our room had rose petals on the bed, and in bathtub. Our cleaning lady made our room very special every morning and made it magnificent on our wedding day. The stuff was very polite, but unfortunately no one spoke well English. I was never sure if they understood me, and there were few instances where they just didn't, but smiled politely with nods. You will like the traffic security as they always give you polite salute with large smile.
One thing I wish they would organize better would be breakfast. We liked to wake up towards the last hour of the breakfast time. By that time half of the food was gone, and about 80% tables were dirty with dishes after guests left. No one bothered to clean it up until the end of breakfast time. So if we wanted to have table with the nice view we had to get our attention from stuff to clean it which shouldnt happen! Also to get attention for coffee we had to stand up many times to find us waiter/waitress. Every day there was couple who got married night before, and they got excellent service as soon they entered the area. That attention should be though normal to every guest in this kind of hotel. The quality of food was good.
The beach area shocked me a bit - you wont be wanting to swim there as the water is full of stones. WE had to walk away from the hotel area to find us nice spot to swim - not far. The left side area is neighboring with construction. It was full of waste, plastic bottles, papers. Just few meters from there people were getting married on the beach?!?!?! That site may not belong to the hotel but should be still cleaned by the hotel. But if you are more of a pool person, you will like your options in this resort.
It would be also beneficial if the hotel would have its own shuttle to Chaweng. Towards the end it was becoming headache to haggle every time for how much tuk tuk will take us around. If you are not scared to drive moped, hire one. It will save you time and nerves. Then you take a trip to muslim village and right behind there is large part of beach with no one around. Also you should try the Thai restaurant the hotel has. Make sure you make reservation, the food was excelent.
