“In the midst of Nature !!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 4, 2013

This is our second trip in a year. This is the place for people who are interested in birding. Sitting outside the tents listening to all the bird call is such a refreshing experience. The location is just brilliant !! The food served is among the best of all the Jungle Lodges property. And the naturalists are very experienced and experts at spotting birds / animals. I think they are among the best guides Jungle Lodges have. An extremely relaxing place and would definitely recommend it to people who love and admire nature & wildlife. Would definitely go back again !!

The fresh air, pure water, bird chirping, cool breeze fantastic.

Rooms: Very well maintained from bed sheets to toilet. Cottage's Slide Door opens up to series of mountains, lush green forest and land of scenic beauty.

Food: Decent Menu. Food is tasty. Hot water to drink. Every thing is served on time including coffee at 6:00 am.

Safari: Driver had lot of experience and patience. Learnt few things and heard few stories from him. Safari was bumpy.

Staff: Very help full.

Wild life: Saw elephants, samba deer, Tiger, barking deer, gaur, langoor and gave massage to spotted deer.

Resort: Warmth from a Campfire helped us feel better on a cold night.Resort is cleanly maintained.Arranges every thing on time.

K Gudi is one of the few Eco-friendly resorts that is located really inside a forest. Infact it is the only resort located in side a core area of a Tiger reserve. The resort itself doesnot have any sort of fencing or elephant trenches dug around it and in the night time it is absolutely normal for wild animals to walk around the cottages and log huts. With a perennial water supply in the form of a water hole, this place is frequented by wildlife like elephants, gaurs, chitals, dears, bears and occasional leopards.
The safari itself is fantastic and people are accompanied by knowledgeable guides and naturalists and is good 2 hour long. One can either go for a morning safari or a jungle trek. The resort is blessed with awesome naturalists like Narayan, who has plethora of knowledge about the place. Try getting him as your guide for the safari.
As for the amenities, they are pretty basic but worth the amount at which they are offered. The resort employes local sholiga tribe folk who are well aware of the surroundings. Food is provided at the golghar and is pretty decent. One cant help but notice how the goleghar staff keeps the food hot using the charcoal by improvising a heat pit.
The place is abundant with birds and is a heaven for all birders. Mornings are the best time to spot the Ariel species and one can just sit at the balcony of their respective loghuts and start snapping the birds around.

Absolutely worth a visit.

Room Tip: Try going for Loghuts.

We stayed here for 3 nights and 4 days between 18th March and 21st March and what an experience it was!!

Firstly, the location, service and hospitality is just outstanding and so is the food served.

There are two safaris everyday one in the morning from 6:30 to 8:30 and one in the evening from 4:00pm to 6:30pm. We went for a total of 6 safaris and we were so lucky to have spotted so much wildlife in a single trip, special thanks to our naturalists Lokesh, Chandru and Kumar.
Each safari takes you around 15kms into the restricted jungle, so the total journey for each safari is 30kms.

We spotted 3 tigers, a sloth bear, a leopard and can you believe it, we spotted a python swallowing a small deer whole!! we spotted it while the deer's leg were still at the python's mouth tip!! All this apart from lots of deers, 3 elephants and around 25 different species of birds.

Of-course the spotting of wildlife is purely luck, but even if you don't sport so much wildlife, this experience will be worth remembering and it will make you come back here and to other Jungle lodges for sure.

Room Tip: Log huts or Tents, they are equally good. If you want privacy, go for Log huts

This was our first experience with jungle lodges and resorts and we are completely satisfied with our visit. This camp is situated right in the middle of the jungle and was impressed by the way the accommodation has been blended into the nature. There is no electric fencing for the property and you are literally in the jungle. Its an exhilarating feeling.
The staff is absolutely fantastic, very courteous and polite. We were there inthe middle of a week, and as we were the only guests at the property, we were asked for choice before cooking each meal.
The naturalist at the camp was very knowledgeable and made our safari experience very great. We could take as many safaris as we wanted, but even after taking 3 safaris we could not spot any animals, but lot of birds.
Overall a wonderful experience, making us want to go back again.

Room Tip: The loghuts and the tented cabins are equally good.

A very good and adventurous vacation that we had in December 2012. Another Jungle Lodges resort worth visiting. We were in a log hut accommodation which was comfortable and clean. Food was excellent. Our memories of safaris on all three days are still afresh. The road to BR temple has variety of bird species - something not to be missed. Staff were kind and helpful. Bird chirps and langur/deer calls in the morning would certainly make the day blessed.

Only downside was that since JLR is government run, there seems to be political influence. Many influential people send their kith and kin for an unplanned safari. They come in large groups - over ten. JLR staff struggle to manage with less vehicles. Eventually, we - the ones who pay for everything - get cramped in a jeep that carries more than eleven people. JLR authorities should take this issue seriously and act on it.

This is one property that is really worth visiting. The location is fantastic as it is right in the middle of the jungle. Wild boars and deer wander in and out of the property freely and that was one of the highlights of the trip. A deer would be right near the restaurant during breakfast every morning and subsequently stroll around the resort. There are two kinds of accommodation at the resort- tents and log huts. We spent a day in each to get a feel of both. I liked the log huts better as they are more modern, spacious and also more private when compared to the tents. There was a good variety of food, which was tasty, hygienic and healthy. The service was warm and friendly. The staff went out of their way to ensure our comfort and attended promptly whenever we needed something. Also, the staff were very spontaneous in their courtesy which was a refreshing change when compared to places where the staff try hard to be courteous only because they are expected to. Overall, a lovely place!

Room Tip: If you like privacy, more space and a more modern accommodation, go for the log huts.
