“Probably the best in the hood & the hood lacks no "cat drama......."”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 21, 2013

Thank god i didnt decide to
a - not stay at the original resort i was planning to at Tadoba at Muharli gate itself
b - not go to pench split the trip between pench & tadoba......

i went with my wife & daughter who were sadly sick after a strenuous Gir trip -
stayed for 4 nights & was truly a memorable one
capt shams has 2 broad distinguishable value traits on offer un-substituted by other for sure from what i saw & also reviews i gathered from many others on safari ...

1 - A super location away from the main muharli gate but just 5kms only away - after a safari what we all want is a lovely peaceful location to relax & unwind & hopefully have some not so commercial place/////camp serai tiger offers absolute privacy & the best part its in a super view location of the tadoba jungle stretch with water holes often visited by big cats & sloth bear....on Saturday morning i myself walked a few meters towards a path which was taken by a male tiger to drink water at the waterhole just next to a lovely watch tower in the hotel premises......
the area itself has a lot of big cat sensation very often...

2 - a team who is genuinely driven to look into any needs of guests....
my wife n kid fell sick on 2 different days - its amazing how they got me a great doctor in that rural indian hamlet, the post treatment everyone dished out to make them feel well while i was away alone mostly on safari......
food was awesome, they did offer some great variation in terms of non-veg too very generously & made it a point to add something different to the mix......
shamoon is a great human warm hearted lovely person who heads operations & kundan & his wife (the chef) are absolutely respect worthy people with great positive attitude towards clients needs..........
their lemon water, cheese toasts were my favourite not forgetting the lovely mutton, trout fish which was out of this world.............

safari experience is a must to mention to anybody as tadoba is purely tigers & i fail to see what else brings a tourist from all over the world to this place other than for tigers.....so safari is a key part of the trip & its truly like or better than my past african experience the way serai tiger team prepares the paxked food, snacks, juices, citric fruit etc in a lovely carrier or cool box for evening safaris etc.....they are all up early on time & never do they keep the guest waiting.......
they organized a lovely elephant safari too just for us & was an amazing tiger spotting experience other than the great respect & contacts the management has painstakenly gathered among safari guides & a super safari driver too......Bapu was a great asset who seamlessly blends with the Serai service culture to serve the client at very high levels........
great place & very personalized treatment makes you sincerely feel special & not a visitor to that homely place, i am not surprized big names in the world wildlife space keep coming back to serai due to these special traits.......wish i can go back sooner for another lovely experience.....oh & tiger spotting is almost next to guaranteed & there are some celebrity tigers in tadoba looming ....thank you to all at serai for taking care of us genuinely........

Room Tip: its all same - tented a/c;d & air cooler also added for betetr cooling effect during the peaks o...

This was my second stay at Serai Tiger Camp in span of 12 months and I must say that accommodation has improved after the tents have been recontructed. Always thought the accommodation is spacious, clean and has all basic facilities( incl. air conditioning, running hot& cold water etc). Importantly the staff is very helpful, polite and most co operative specially the kitchen staff was ready to serve us delicious meals we ordered at times. Small irritants were the creepy crawlies in the verandah and flying frogs in the toilets., so also fluctuating power caused some discomfort. But the warmth of the staff made good over minor irritants.

Serai tiger camp was an unexpectedly nice place to stay in Tadoba. The tent experience was wonderful with all the basic amenities. Bathrooms were clean, food was average but the staff was very polite and very attentive. The Serai experience had made our overnight stay a joyful experience.

Do visit Serai durin winter..The bonfire and tea, the sunset from machan is a delightful sight.

Room Tip: The tents are available as per booking. so do book your tents well in advance. all the tents are sim...

A group of friends stayed at this place in May,12 for about 3 days and 2 nights. We were charged about 6500INR for a room per night incl of meals. It is a tented place but the tents are in real bad shape, torn at places & you are unable to zip the entrance of the tent properly as zips have given away.AC and coolers have to work overtime to maintain room temperature,so actual cooling may happen only when you visit in winters. They also ran out of diesel and there was no electricity for a while.Food was extremely sad & at times it was hardly edible.Although they did try n make something on request but for the amount charged it was tardy.Safaris set you back by another 3000/- INR per trip.No activities of any kind at the resort. The staff is friendly but overall for the amount charged its not worth half the money spent. You feel shortchanged.Nothing luxiourous or special to look forward to.

Camp Serai Tiger is one of the best for the price range. Food is just like homemade and is the best for the frequent travelers. Situated adjacent to the jungle, is frequented by Tigers, Sloth Bear and Leopard. Clean toilets and comfortable beds. Not posh but gives a feel of staying with the nature. Packed breakfast is given, to be eaten during the Safari. Mineral water is charged, but they do have an RO plant for clean water. No swimming pool but is acceptable... They should have a souvenir shop also.

Room Tip: All the rooms are good. they have double bed room and few king bedrooms. You can chose if its availa...
