Description: Go Vino has taken the Spanish concept of tapas and evolved it for a New Zealand environment. Go Vino’s shared plates (Kaizen dishes) are bigger and more complex than traditional tapas. The dishes also feature ingredients and flavours distinct to New Zealand. Drawing on quality seasonal produce Chef Paul Van Weerden creates a Kaizen menu which changes every few weeks. Perfectly designed dishes can be enjoyed as a snack or as a complete meal over the course of an evening.

“The wonderful food just kept on coming”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2013

We ordered the tasting plate which was in effect about 10 plates for 2 to share. All seafood as my dining partner does not eat meat. Each more delicious than the last.

“Don't miss this!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 14, 2013

What a surprise to find a restaurant of this quality at Cooks Beach. Top marks for the food and top marks for the presentation, if only I'd had my camera!
The idea of a shared plate is a great way of tasting a range of dishes. Dessert was memorable, especially the shot that tastes like chocolate cake.. Dine here and you won't be disappointed.

This place lives up to it's reviews. Food was great, service to match. Beef cheek was best ever. Had dessert platter which was great also. Keep up the good work.

“Surprising find in Cook's Beach!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 9, 2013

We turned up for dinner without a reservation, but were happily found a table. Spent about 3 hours over the entire dinner, but didn't really notice as the tapas-style menu kept dishes coming out at fairly regular intervals. We only tried four of the many dishes on offer, and were more than happy with all of them, but were simply blown away by the venison. The textures and flavours were incredible, and quite frankly my partner is lucky she got any! All of the dishes were larger than you might expect of tapas - roughly entree-sized - and were fairly priced, so that the entire dinner came out about the same as a starter-mains-dessert might from a regular menu. Also, Go Vino stocks a wide range of excellent wines, with an equally extensive range of superb New Zealand craft beers, including the less common Spruce Beer from the Wigram Brewing Co, which I particularly like. Well done!
