“Wanted to stay forever”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 28, 2013

We read about Meditasi in Lonely Planet and so we took a long and windy road on our motorbike from Candiasa until we finally reached this amazing destination. As a yoga teacher and practitioner of meditation, I was particularly excited about the Meditation Cave. This is one of the few lodging properties I've visited in the world with such a spiritually rich, designated location for meditation. While meditating here I felt as if I was alone in the world. A perfect spot for discovering your true self.
We were only going to stay one night, but when we arrived, we immediately decided to stay two. The bungalows are beyond charming, atmosphere so peaceful, restaurant superb, and Smiling Buddha (the owner) an unforgettable delight. We didn't even mind one bit that there was no air-con (usually a requirement for my husband) because of the cooling breeze off the ocean; as well as, the plethora of other positive attributes of Meditasi. We very much enjoyed hanging out with Smiling Buddha in the restaurant in the evenings, snorkelling and yoga class during the day, and the beautiful sunrise and surreal sight of hundreds of small fishing boats filling the horizon in the morning. HIghly, highly recommended.

I spent three days here last November and had a great time. I believe I was in Bungalow #3, which had a beautiful view - but all of the bungalows had a great view. The restaurant was good and convenient. The location is off the beaten track (something like 11km down a slow moving winding road along the beach) and totally worth it. I didn't leave the whole time I was there, didn't want to! And the snorkeling was amazing!

This is Bali at its best.Beachfront bamboo cottages gently caressed by a breeze off the Bali Sea which is right in front of you and a black stoney beach circled by colourful fishing boats. .The vibe is perfect for reflection and relaxation. The lack of luxury and creature comforts keep tourists away attracting mainly travellers who know how to appreciate a place like this.
The restaurant is equally appealing with a selection of great atmospheric music ,real food and the Arak Margueritas are not to be missed.

Room Tip: Just go for the cold water rooms.Hot water here seems out of place and for the price difference you...

What a terrible place. The owner clearly couldnt handle the fact the we wanted another place to stay with our 2 year old daughter and was not helpful at all. We eventually decided to leave, and he basically left us without any help. Not something you expect from such a lovely place according to the Lonely Planet. Very dissapointing because we had good references and good expectations about this place.

This hotel is perfect for a good time relaxing far from any distraction. The view is really good and the day bed is perfect! The staff are really cool. There's a lot to do around, you just need to rent a motorbike, wich you can do directly from the hotel. Snorkeling, diving, good food and everything else. Great place.

We arrived in Meditasi after a nice car ride from Seminyak, the coast was beautiful and looking at the Amed hotels all one after the other I was happy to be in Aas and we felt alone in the world. We had a nice bungalow, with a garden and the beach right in front of us.
The perfect place to meditate, read, chill out!
The food is great and the owner very friendly.
The overall cleanliness was OK but if you look in details you might find little stains on the bed or the mosquito net.
Nothing very bad, it is also part of the trip...

I stayed with my mum at Meditasie Bungalows in November 2012, the low season and it was pure heaven. I wish I stayed the entire holiday here, the waking up to the sunset while thousands of fishing boats dotted the horizon, the live aquarium right at your front door, lovely service and fantastic food. Definitely a place to recommend if you want to chill and have a true holiday from it all. No place for party seekers or people addicted to any sort of mobile/wifi connections which made it even better.
Thank you little Buddha, you made our stay like we were with family.
