“The exotic traditional bungalow in east bali”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2012

I was there on last September 2012, Amed is located in the east of Bali,it would takes around 3 hours driving from Denpasar to this place but it’s worth since the view along the way to the meditation bungalow is excellent. The Organic F&B served at Smiling Buddha restaurant was amazing with reasonable price. The place itself very nature with bamboo decorated and the owner of this place is very friendly and the staff is very helpful.

The first entrance to the bungalow room was an outdoor stones bathroom with the traditional shower made from bamboo and when you take a look into the bedroom, you will see the beautiful nature and exotic bamboo room with the eye-catching bed with hanging mosquito net and one single bed outside the room ,in the balcony with very stunning beach view.

If you wish to have a peaceful atmosphere, this place would be a great place to relaxing mind, body and soul with daily yoga class every morning. This quite a remote area without any mobile phone signal .. have a peaceful relaxation without disruption by others

I found Meditasi Bungalows online 'by accident,' and Im so that that I did. I was looking for somewhere to stay in Amed and Meditasi was just perfect. It was so nice to be able to relax, and unwind with no tv, or mobile phone reception. The accommodation was simple, but very clean and the staff were always busy, making sure that the place was immaculate.
My favourite thing apart from the falling asleep to the sound of the waves crashing on the shore, was the food and drinks. Meditasi offers a variety of traditional Balinese herbal drinks (jamu) and also traditional Balinese food that they usually cook only for ceremonies. It was an absolute pleasure to be able to sample the food and herbal drinks at Meditasi and it's something that I will never forget. (The herbal drinks are not for everyone though).
I left Meditasi feeling totally relaxed and refreshed.

This is coastal Bali as it really was. Bamboo huts overlooking the sea with sea breeze to cool you. No air con, no TV, no WiFi, no cell phone reception.

But with a cafe with GREAT food and very friendly and helpful staff.

Not quite right for children... but apart from that near to perfect.

Room Tip: Go for Room 7

True traditional balinese style of life!
8 bamboo bungalows:
4 ocean front with veranda, chill out & garden
4 ocean view with veranda & chill out
All with open air bathroom, stoned floor, amazing colored bougainvilleas around the garden & patios
Great views!!!
Set in a fisherman's village, you can see the boats coming early in the morning with basquets full of fish.
The restaurant opened 1 year ago, they offer delicius organic food and healthy drinks:
Happy Hour from 19:00h to 20:00h
Meet & Greet from 21:00h & beyond (possibility to meet other travellers & exchange experiences)
It's possible to rent snorkeling gear (Rp 40.000 per day/person), they also arrange a boat fishing trip around the area (Rp 300.000 x 2 people)
Yoga classes every day at 17:30h to 18:30h (Rp 100.000 per person)
The owner, Smiling Buddha, came to meet us for check in and from then on he never stop smiling and laughing (hahahaha!!!)
No internet but for emergencies he can let us use his own computer. He makes you feel at home.
From the start you get a special vibe: relax, happiness & a let it flow feeling.
I strongly recommend to spend some days in that little paradise, you will feel the real east coast balinese way.
