Just got back from this hotel.....very good value for money, great location for Peppa Pig World and
a great location full stop for a beautiful surrounding. The rooms were very clean and the staff very friendly. Highly recommended. The restaurant we found out , has just changed hands about 3 weeks ago, and I must say ,being in catering myself , it has changed for the good ( after reading numerous bad reviews ). The food is very good price wise.and there is a large selection and the quality of food was very good as pub food. The staff were very friendly and on the ball at all times.Keep it up.

Room Tip: Would recommend to rent a car as it is far from certain sight seeing places ,like the New Forest Wil...

Hotel up to standard for a Premier Inn, no issues. Food and service at The Vines ok if you bear in mind it's a "chain" pub/resturant and accept it for what it is, overall a recommended place to stay. Used it to visit family crew member on the QM2 and couldn't fault it's location for ease of access to Southampton Docks.

The Hotel is great and has good sized rooms and a good sized car park. It is also great for Paultons Park. We have stayed at this hotel for a number of years and the Vine Inn (the conected pub), has gone from good to bad. Last year, it changed to be a Fayre&Square pub, which we thought would be a good thing. At the time of the change the pub was open but there was a limited selection of drinks and also missing items on the breakfast menu (like bacon). We gave it another chance this year, but little has changed. Service is very poor and they still run out of breakfast items (like advertised hash browns).

The hotel is great and I would book that again with no problem. However, I wouldn't pay for the breakfast again and also plan evening meals elsewhere.

There is a pub just up the road (The Mortimer Arms) which does great food, so this could be an option. It also has rooms, but is limited with regard to families.

Stayed 2 nights in family room for visit to Peppa Pig world - location excellent, literally a stones throw away from the park. Family room massive double bed with 2 single beds - room/bathroom very clean and room has everything needed for a 2 night stay. Reception and staff helpful and friendly. Paid for the breakfast - good selection of cereals, toast, jams, croissants etc and full english as ordered. Would agree with other reviews regarding restaurant - basic menu with food very bog standard, no real cooking involved as everything either fried or microwaved, but hey it is a pub food chain so what do you expect? Overall positive experience of the hotel - if you want quality restaurant food then don't bother eating here.

The hotel staff were very welcoming and helpful. The rooms spacious and clean. We booked a family room and were expecting a double bed and fold out sofa bed for kids but were pleased to find that we had a super king size bed and two proper fold out single beds for the kids. The only let down was the restaurant/pub attached to the hotel. We had drink before dinner booking (booked for 7pm) and had to wait 20 mins to be served drinks. By the time we sat down at our table at 7pm the queue for the bar (where you had to order your food also) ran the whole length of the front of the restaurant and we overheard someone say they had just been told there was over an hour wait for food. All the while the duty manager was more interested in guarding the book ith the bookings in than trying to do anything about the queue. So due to the fact it was going to be about half an hour to get to the bar to order a drink and food we walked out and went half a mile down the road to the Mortimer Arms and got served straight away by friendly bar staff and food came out in about 15 mins and was lovely, but much more expensive but worth it!
If they sort out the restaurant/bar I would feel happy about recommending this hotel to anyone.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 122 which does not face the car park but green land at the rear of the hotel so mu...

Stayed here on Sunday 30/9/12 with my partner & our daughters (aged 1 & 3). Lovely friendly service from all the staff in the hotel. Room was very clean & comfortable, had no noise during the night & we all slept soundly. Good for children with an outdoor park & Wacky Warehouse inside. The carpark was busy but several spaces available when we arrived. Perfect location for Paultons Park which we visited on the Monday (is literally round the corner!) & on our arrival we asked one of the housekeeping ladies for recommendations on nearby coastal towns which she gave us plus directions. We chose to take a trip to Bournemouth for the afternoon. Couldn't have asked for more from the hotel.
The only bad thing about this hotel that we encountered was the restaurant. The waiter who "greeted" us didn't crack a smile & just walked off to find us a table so we weren't sure whether we were supposed to follow him or not?! Ordered 2 starters but they got order wrong - corrected without any hassle but no offer to refund the extra 20p we'd paid (we didn't bother persuing this as only 20p so maybe they'd have sorted out if we'd have asked). Prawn cocktails were described in menu as coming in dressing but came out plain so had to ask for dressing separately once they'd come out. 45 minutes wait for food although we were forewarned about this. Major delay in our starter plates being cleared away & mains being brought out.
Breakfast in the morning...waiter told us he'd come to our table to serve us, never did!! We grabbed some cereal for our daughters but by the time we left (about an hour or so later) we still hadn't been served, not even a drink. From what I saw of other people's breakfasts it looked pretty standard if pricey at £8 odd.
Fab hotel - clean & comfortable cheap rooms with good friendly service. Restaurant service lets it down.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 116 - very quiet apart from people walking past early in the evening to get to the...
