“Teacake is the perfect Country Retreat alone or with friends”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 19, 2013

Teacake of Shepreth is not only a stunning "Chocolate Box" cottage in the middle of a pretty Cambridgeshire village, it's host to stunning homemade cakes & food, fabulous coffee and a superb selection of loose leaf teas. You can even take away your favourite brew if you find one that you love!
Christine & Maurice (and their small team) are the friendliest tearoom owners around and they make it a very special experience, my advice would be not to visit if you are in a rush! This is a place with no wifi or distractions, it's perfect to catch up with friends or cosy up by the fireplace with a good book as you enjoy some "me time". It's genuinely my "Go to" place for my tea & cake fix.
There's plenty to see around the area, no matter how you arrived, with plenty of walks, places to visit (including Docwra's house, local wildlife park, riverside walks and not too far away an RSPB nature reserve to name but a few) should you need any more of a reason to visit! You can see why cyclists head here at the weekend too, with a gorgeous garden out the back, you can sit there in the summer with your bike or pup in tow and not feel out of place or unwelcome.
During the winter, their homemade soups are a must, with delicious wedges of bread with butter, this is the ultimate in comfort.
Need I say anymore?!... Get down there quick sharp if it's on your list of places to try, you won't be disappointed.

Miss Sue Flay

“Fabulous friendly tea shop”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 13, 2013

Lovely freshly baked and homemade cakes and a great choice of drinks including many varieties of teas and coffees . Chris and Maurice are welcoming and friendly and go the extra mile, substituting ingredients for those of us that are fussy eaters,

“A cosy gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 13, 2013

We love being able to walk (or park easily) to this lovely teashop. The homemade cakes and soups are so tasty. Chris and Maurice pay great attention to detail and warmly welcome everyone from walkers to cyclists as well as the local residents and visitors from all over. We start with a delicious teacake and coffee, read the papers, have soup and a sandwich. A relaxing experience. Thank you

“Tasty cakes in a lovely location!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 25, 2013 via mobile

Such a fab selection of cakes, flap jack, choc brownies, apple cake, sticky date, a gluten and dairy free option which had almond, lemon and maybe apricot? Victoria sponge, choc tiffin bar (rocky road style) choc and vanilla marble cake, ginger bread cake, yummmm!
There were four tables in the room, so they can get busy very quickly.
My daughter had a ham salad with some nice homemade bread, i had a serrano ham, cream cheese and pear sandwich which was delish!
I took my 9 year old daughter there for a treat and she really enjoyed it. They provided us with Shut the Box to play, which we both liked!
It was really pretty out in the back garden, I can imagine it would be lush in the summer.
I will definitely be going back, very cute!
