“A Great Day”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 3, 2013

While we were in Split, we discovered the day trip to Solta Island to visit the Olive Oil Factory and tour Solta. Frane picked us up at the ferry and took us to the olive tree fields, the factory and introduced us to the island. What a great day! We never imaged the multiple tastes of olive oil and its varied uses in food preparation. Frane was very knowledgeable and a great presenter. The lunch was excellent and the lemon olive oil on ice cream was superb. I would recommend this day trip to all visitors of Split.

“A splendid way to spend a day”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 27, 2013

During a 3 week tour of Croatia we spent a day taking a tour on Solta and becoming educated on fine Olive Oil. When we travel we like to spend time learning about the country and people. We are also keen on the local specialties. In researching for our trip we found a sailing trip and tour to an island off the coast of Croatia but it had been discontinued. So more research ahead and I found Olynthia Natura Olive Oil Tour. In contacting the company I received a quick reply from the company and after arriving in Split Croatia we took a quick ferry ride to the island to spend the day. We were greeted by the owner and began our tour. Aside from such personal attention we were given a tour of the olive orchards and saw an amazing 1000 year old olive tree and introduced to her many off springs emerging from ancient soil in search of light and life. Following the orchard tour we were given a tour of the olive oil facility and an education on harvesting, tasting and appreciation on the entire process. Then as if that was not enough we were provided a lovely lunch prepared by the family and all items subject to enhancement by a fine selection of oils produced by Olynthia. Now who could leave without bring home a selection of oils (especially now that we were so knowledgeable about said oils) and the hard part was making selections. Olynthia packed and shipped our treasures home and in fact the packages beat us home. The tour, education and special attention was grand and you will never look at olive oil the same again. Please take advantage of a restful day amid I bet a sometime hectic grand tour it is well worth the trip.

“Taste of the local way of life”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 18, 2013

What a pleasand day trip we had to Solta Island visiting the Olynthia Olive Oil Factory and a local beekeeper. Our host met us at the ferry in Split and took us to his olive grove and his factory on the island Solta. He explained the processes and we had an interesting time tasting the different olive oils they produce. Thereafter he took us to the beekeeper where his wife served us a delicious meal giving us a taste of their local specialities. Goran gave us insight on the beekeeping business. The day was well worth it and highly recommened. It was surely one of the best day trips we had in Croatia. Needless to say we definately bought olive oil and honey to take home with us.

“Solta Island Day Trip Olive Oil Tour”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 16, 2013

On August 14, 2012, we boarded the ferry at Split around 9 am for Solta. As promised, Frane picked us up a the ferry dock at Solta, stopped at several places to show us 1000 year old Olive Trees, and proceeded to the Olynthia Olive Oil Factory. It is a small operation but produces excellent quality olive oil.
First, we reviewed a brief video of the olive production process. Secojnd, we had a brief tour of the inside of the factory and the machinery that handles the olives as they come from harvest. And, lastly, we sat at a long elevated table to taste various flavors of olive oil, Lemon, Rosemary, Garlic, among others. They were all outstanding. We enjoyed our morning visiting with Frane and learning about olives. Of course, you could buy the olive oil and Frane would arrange for it to be shipped to you.
After our olive oil adventure, we were transported by pick up truck to another adventure learning about bees. But, that adventure is covered in another review.

“A wonderful experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 13, 2013

From the time we were met at the ferry dock until we were dropped off with the beekeeper we had a wonderful experience. Frane showed us 1000 year old trees - so gnarled they looked to be from Hobbit land. Lunch was magnificent. We bought oils and had shipped home - all made it in fine shape!
One of the highlights of our stay in Split!
