“A recommendation well deserved”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2013

This Hotel was recommended to me for a one night stay in the area and it was not misplaced. All aspects exceeded expectation and the welcome and service were second to none. For my part I would have no reservations about recommending Glebe House and I would use it again myself.

The bedrooms were fantastic, it was spotlessly clean, and the breakfasts were very good and the lady was very helpful, and went out of her way to help us with early breakfast on our first day as it was an early start. Really cannot fault the place, apart from no beans on the breakfast!! Excellent.

Room Tip: Really close to the A11' but this will not be a problem when the bypass is in place it will be q...

Myself, husband and son stayed here for one night while visiting family in the area, we were shown to our room by the owner, informed of the breakfast time and left to our own devices. The room was spotless and a good size, the breakfast was lovely, the only thing I would change would be the pillows on the bed, we all found them rather hard and I did wake up with a headache due to this. Overall though we would stay again.

By partner and I stayed at Glebe House for one night in June as we were attending an outdoor concert in Thetford forest. I was impressed to receive a phone call before we had checked in to see what time we were arriving. Once we checked in, the very helpful lady proprietor was happy to ring around and find us a taxi to take us to and from the concert - above and beyond the call of duty as far as I'm concerned. The house itself is beautiful, as are the gardens. It's remarkably quiet given that it's very close the A11. The room was welll furnished with a nice view over the back garden. Our only very minor complaint was a very noisy shower. The next morning we were treated to a lovely english breakfast with local ingredients so absolutely no complaints there either. The couple who run Glebe House are very friendly and welcoming. It was very pleasantly surprised at the value for money and service we received. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again or to recommend it to others. For a good place to eat nearby try the Elveden Inn which is just down the road.

We stayed may bank holiday weekend and what a super place the glebe is.Our room canada was great with a huge bathroom bigger than most 3rd bedrooms.A full selection for breakfast which included full english, local free range eggsand delicious locally made sausages.Nothing was to much trouble as I asked for a bacon sandwich.A good base for horse racing at newmarket which is about 15mins drive.Would recommend this place and will go back next year when we visit newmarket again

Stayed here for two nights early May. I phoned ahead as I have some dietary needs and was delighted to find that they had all been catered for, a thing that seldom happens even in top rated hotels! The room was large and airy, very well equipped and furnished and very clean and well presented. The breakfast is plentiful and varied, all cooked fresh to order with a choice of Elveden Estate (lunch) and Elveden Inn for lunch or dinner both within a few minutes walk. Overall I could not fault Glebe Country House and would definitely recommend here to anyone needing a stay in this part of the country, I will certainly be using it the next time I am over here!!

We arrived on a Monday about 5 pm in April for 5 nights, (cold but dry); my wife and I were welcomed and shown around and then upstairs to the bedroom. Which we found was spacious a good size find details on web site... http://www.glebecountryhouse.co.uk/rooms.html , with on En-suite (shower), all well laid out, all the rooms were warm with extra heating . Deidre explained about the timetable for breakfast which when provided next morning was superb plenty of choice and no problem with making small alterations or extras to what you might like and acceptable. P.S. / eggs are their own when ever possible you could tell what a change in taste and colour from what you might normally see. Rooms had all you could need plus extra water on the landing, local tap water is very hard in this area and some people might not like the taste from the tap. Bed was rechecked and made up daily, linen was crisp and fresh and from our room overlooked the garden facing the A14, traffic noise did not cause a problem this will be even better when the A14 road this upgrade in progress, when finished this will give this location added attraction . The Glebe as a B.B is well recommended and will promote to friend/s and would visit again if in area. The House is on a site that is shared with Elveden farm ..... see web site http://www.elveden.com/ with all details well worth a look around. We found while we were their other guest we on holiday, passing through or on business in the area ... Thetford is a short drive north by car about 20 minutes you pass a shopping site on the way that has a major supermarket. Plenty of places to eat in the area to suit all tastes, Bury St. Edmunds about 30-40 minutes by car away also have a large and mixed shopping area. Many places to visit if on holiday, we are also have National Trust membership and this was a great bonus. http://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/ you can also look http://www.visitnorfolk.co.uk/ or Suffolk http://thecuriouscounty.com/#/overview

Room Tip: Different size rooms available even standard room is good size, some people might find more suited t...
