“excellent”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

I hadn't been for a while and went back after a friend praised it highly. We went for Sunday lunch and had the carvery. The meat was of a high quality , better than I have had at other places and the vegtable choice was wide and varied. The red cabbage was spicy but the hint of aniseed was not to my taste but my partner enjoyed it. Good pudding. Good service, sea view, well priced , we are definitely going back.

“Nice.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 22, 2013

We called in for lunch and a warm up on a cold rainy Saturday in January.
Nice chilled vibe, real fire and good pub grub including crab bisque soup, lovely.
No complaints and will definitely call in again, well staffed.

“Good pub food, but not for gastronomes!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 11, 2012

A good selection available both from the menu and the specials board. Generous portion sizes but the food is expensive for what is, at the end of the day, pub food. Good atmosphere and staff friendliness however.

“Have the lasagne!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2012 via mobile

We visit this pub on the 1st day on all our Cornish holidays because its food and atmosphere is so nice.

During the summer it's packed out. In winter it was still busy but much easier to get a table! The food is amazing especially the lasagne which has been my husbands favourite dish at the pub since we met!

It's got nice views over the beach and is dog friendly in the bar area. There is a restaurant area which we've never used as we much prefer the atmosphere in the pub.

We can't wait for our next visit to Cornwall as this pub will be 1st on our list of places to visit!

“Fantastic varied specials board”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2012

The catch of the day - Haddock cooked as the classic fish and chips, is by far the best I have ever tasted, we ate from the specials board every night for 5 nights and enjoyed it all, the childrens sized portions were great value for money and our children certainly cleared their plates, the puddings looked great and each day we said, oh maybe tomorrow, but when tomorrow came we couldn't fit it in! Breakfast each day was also great, highly recommend the smoked haddock and scrambled eggs and the full english was fantastic too, again the childrens portions were perfect.
