Thought I'd be struggling to find somewhere decent out of season in November for one night, but this was first class. Lovely clean modern room, excellent bar and restaurant, and the location has to be one of the most dramatic - and unspoiled - in Europe, never mind the UK. Really good value, beautifully cooked and presented evening meal and breakfast, perfect service, you could not ask for more.
Well done - our stay was a genuine pleasure from start to finish.

After seeing an advert on Facebook for a 'meal deal' at the Cape bar and restaurant on Friday night, we thought we would give it a try. The deal was £10 for 1 course with a drink or £14 for 2 courses.
We were certainly glad that we gave it a try!! The food was outstanding, cooked to a fine dining standard. We both had the crab salad to start which was delicious especially the candied bacon that was sprinkled on the top. My husband then had the 10 oz rib eye which was cooked to perfection with hand cooked chips and I had the pork belly, again delicious with really crispy crackling. We shared a chocolate brownie which was nice but a little under cooked for me.
The restaurant and bar is extremely welcoming, spacious with a wood burner making it very cosy. We were looked after by George who was a fantastic bar manager, he took lots of time to come and chat and even persuaded my husband to take up golf again which is good.
If you have a chance to try this restaurant it's a must !! You won't be disappointed. We will most certainly be back on mass

A Golf Club with a course that offers a challenge not often found anywhere in the UK with a dramatic backdrop of the Atlantic pounding the rocks below the course. The new owners have made a significant investment to provide a club house that is now probably the best in Cornwall. We ate there recently had a delicious homemade soup and a wonderful beef baguette simple food well presented with a fresh well dressed salad . We suspect that their full meals will be equally good. When we say "nearly there" they are about to undertake some further refurbishments which will complete the first class package. If you fancy a challenge at golf or good food with stunning scenery then its worth making the effort to get there . Its the last course in the West and one you should visit

Booked this literally last minute, we were travelling with a couple of friends from the USA to give them a whistle stop tour of SW England - had driven down from Bath and arrived too late to go to Minack which I really wanted them to see so had to find somewhere nearer than our originally booked hotel to stay the night - What a great decision!! It is set in a fabulous location, the staff (particularly the young guy that booked us in and who's name I can't remember!) were really friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean, comfortable and well equipped, the food was superb - especially breakfast - and the view was to die for! It is located down a long narrow road, pretty much in the middle of nowhere and it was beautiful and peaceful - wish we could have stayed for longer - we will definitely be back!

The location of this hotel cannot be faulted, the views from the patio are breathtaking.
I booked a twin room on Bookings.com as this was the only room left, only a few days before our stay. The Hotel phoned me on the day to say there was only a double free and did I mind (broken bed they said) this was not a problem and nice of them to call before I got there.
The check in time was stated at 4.00pm, a little late I thought but when they phoned at 1.30pm ish they said the room was ready so that was good.
The Hotel is as it says. You are staying on a Golf Course with the accommodation based at the rear in converted out buildings. Our room looked refurbished, it was done really nicely and the bathroom was also very modern with a large power shower. There wasn't anywhere to hang any clothes apart from one hook on the back of the door as the room just wasn't big enough to fit a wardrobe. It may possibly be the smallest room we've stayed in ever. The two pillows would not lie flat side by side as the bed wasn't wide enough, it was a very small double.
We reserved a table in the dining area for dinner. The dining room is also the club house so you share the bar with the golfers. The menu choice is quite limited, approx. 5 choices on each course but the food was excellent, not cheap but as I say very good. The house wine is £14.95 per bottle and quite palatable.
Breakfast is served again in the club house dining area where the golfers sit and munch their pre round of golf bacon sarnies. You can help yourself to cereal, fruit and yogurt etc, all lovely but some of the bowls were dirty. There's a selection for a hot breakfast, ample to choose from and the coffee came in a cafétier. We managed to get a table in the window for breakfast to take advantage of the marvellous views.
Whilst there we walked along the coast path, around the lane and back down the main road to the Resort. That's a lovely walk, you can see right across to Lands End. In the afternoon we sat on the patio having a drink (there was a children's party in the function room so we carried our drinks around the front of the club house to avoid passing through). The patio was a little tired looking and the furniture not particularly set out, more abandoned.
Would I recommend this place, yes totally, just ask to see your room first if you're over 5ft tall!
The staff I have to say were fantastic and could not do enough for you. They worked long hours and stayed upbeat baring in mind this must of been the end of a long season.

On our way to the Minack, we decided to stop here instead of going on. It was an auspicious choice! The fog was thick when we arrived that night, and we quickly checked in with the help of a lovely young man, and he advised us to have dinner soon, as they were expecting a larger group, and he didn't want us to get lost in the midst of the busy kitchen when they arrived. We were grateful for the advice , and went in to dinner promptly. We had a variety of lovely apps and entrees, everything cooked to order and quite delicious. There was not a single thing that I would hesitate to recommend - it was all delicious. The desserts were not quite as successful, but still good. (Our expectations may have been a bit too high after our excellent dinner)

Rooms were on the second floor, reached via a metal staircase. Ours was newly decorated and clean, with a big modern shower area. No phone, so I couldn't call down to the desk to request a few things that seemed to be missing, but a short walk back to reception and it was taken care of promptly. Small wall-mounted television, and kettle with coffee and biscuits, but as someone else said, we couldn't get the internet to work at all. They said management was working on it, and the young man showed me that his was working, but alas, we could not get ours to work in spite of paying a BT charge to get hooked up (no fault of the hotel, I was just desperate to try to reach a few people and gave it a try...)

After getting a good nights sleep in a very quiet room with a somewhat squeaky bed, we woke up to another foggy scene, and were off to breakfast.

Plentiful, strong coffee and tea with a variety of breakfast options, including a full English, were waiting. As we ate, the fog lifted, and we were treated to our fist glimpse of the spectacular surroundings! Amazing views, and walking paths just nearby. This being my first time in the area, I was stunned by the beauty.

All in all, a lovely place to stay. I would certainly recommend you give it a night or two if you're in the area.

Room Tip: if you have trouble with stairs, ask for a room on the ground floor. There is no lift to the second...

I have played there twice, and I think the same : some stunning views over the sea and the coast but a poor design, specifically the back nine, they are designed to see the sea not for play golf...but still a good fun !
