“Brilliant Venue”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2014

We recently had our sons christening here and it was super. Emma, Ian and Thomas couldn't do enough to make our day special and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the day.
Family booked in for a couple of nights and proceeded to book a further night as they loved it so much.
I'd recommend this guest house 100%. Whether you're looking for a venue for a special occasion or wanting a tranquil stay in the country, Burton lodge has it all.
Thank you Ian, Emma and Thomas, you made our day one to remember.

Thank you for our very first "venue" review and so glad you enjoyed the day x the weather turned out great in the end and the bouncy castle drying seemed to work if not a little improvised!!

So glad John's parents enjoyed their stay too it was a pleasure having them - many thanks for using us for your special occasion and hope to see you again for another party

Best wishes

Just had a lovely short break here, stayed in room 6, the guest house is clean, has comfortable beds, excellent breakfast; all local ingredients including double yolk eggs from the local farm, just right for starting the day. It is ideally located for trips to Beverley, Hull and surrounding area. Ian and Emma made us feel really welcome and if you want something a bit special, then the bothy in the grounds with it's hot tub looks perfect. We look forward to visiting again.

I'm just home from a weekend in Yorkshire. The Burton Lodge is a clean friendly place to stay. The owner is in the process of refreshing the rooms. The one I stayed in (No 5 ) was clean and very comfortable. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff and there was always a laugh and a joke. It felt like I had been there for ever and that they were old friends.
Great place , nice staff fantastic countryshire.

Room Tip: Go for the lodge with the hot tub for a romantic weekend!

We had a brief one night stay at Burton Lodge and stayed in the annexe while the main building is being updated. Our room was cosy and warm and our dog was permitted to stay too. The place was spotlessly clean. Absolutely nothing to complain about yet not wowed by it either. Very homely and it served our purpose for a 1 night stay.

Many thanks for taking the time to feedback we really appreciate it and glad you enjoyed your stay and for your understanding in relation to the renovations we have underway.

The installation of the new central heating system throughout the Guest House was in full flow at the time you stayed and the room you stayed in is just about to be decorated and new carpets put in - even though it is the only room we allow dogs in we believe it is important to keep it updated and fresh.

Possibly unlikely you will have the need to say yourselves as I think you have moved to the village but hopefully we will be somewhere you recommend to visiting family and friends.

Best wishes

Our first time at Burton Lodge but it will not be our last. A warm welcome awaited us and we were well looked after by Ian and Emma during our stay. We stayed in the Bothy which was a magical experience and we would certainly stay there again. Can't wait for the imminent hot tub experience. Great base from which to visit north east coast. Nice quiet location away from tourist centres. Good, hearty breakfast sets you up for the day. We had our dog Oscar with us and he was made equally welcome and had lots of space for running in the extensive well kept gardens.

Julia and Nick

Room Tip: For a really special occasion choose to stay in the Bothy.

Escaped to the country for a repeat visit, the lodge was just as nice as last time. Although spring turned pretty arctic we were cozy inside and had a great night in Beverley with our hosts sorting out taxis etc
Thank you

Room Tip: the lodge is at the other end of the garden from the main house, great sense of privacy

You can tell this is run by someone that cares about their business and I wish them every success taking it forward.

The breakfast was excellent and the guest house did everything we needed for our short stay in the area. We could stay with our dog, Rosie in the annex building.

Thank you.
