We left the hotel on 18th September after spending 10 nights. We had a great time & for the price we paid it was really good value for money. On arrival save the transfer money and get a taxi. You will be at the hotel within 10 minutes rather than waiting an hour for another flight to arrive and it only costs around €10. Rooms are not available until 2pm but we were given bracelets so we could get food and drink and there is a room to leave luggage. We were given an apartment in a block away from the main building. It was set over two floors with a terrace downstairs and a balcony upstairs. It was very quiet and we never heard other guests. The room was a bit tired but everything was serviceable and comfortable. Housekeeping visited regularly to clean and to change the towels and bed linen. We had a problem with the hot water but after reporting it a member of staff was at our apartment working on it within a few minutes and it was fixed in less than 20.
There was no problem getting a bed around the pool and there was plenty of space. The pool was cleaned daily and there are plenty of toilets nearby. Music was played from the pool bar all day but it wasn't too loud & you could sit further away to lessen it's impact.
The pool bar was closed when we were there but you can get drinks from the pizzeria and the main bar opens at 3.30pm every day. The main barman is Jonathan and he remembers exactly what drink you like.
The restaurant gives a welcome break from the heat and provides a range of food you'd expect of a 3* hotel. Food was plentiful and the staff were cheerful. There was always plenty of salad and fresh fruit and the main hot choices always included meat and fish dishes. There is a children's buffet in the evenings with the usual chips and nuggets type food. There is a disco but it doesn't open until midnight.
There is a small shop on site stocking reasonably priced food, drink & toiletries.
If you want a quiet, reasonably priced hotel then this place fits the bill. If you want nightlife and more choice of food then you would be better off going to a bigger, more expensive hotel.

First of all, and in the name of all of us here in the hotel we say thank you for writing a comment in TripAdvisor, and we are very pleased to know that you had enjoyed your stay here with us.

We always work as hard as we can to assure you a great holiday under the bright sun of Fuerteventura, and when somebody, like you, put some lines just to say you had nice time here, we think that our job is going well and our efforts are well directed.

But we never stop improving, so your comments are very appreciated, and be sure that your suggestions are taken in high consideration, just to be sure that when you come back with us, you will find all in perfect conditions for you.

Waiting for you next year, we send you all best wishes from all staff.

Had a great holiday, hotel was what you'd expect for a 3*. Room was cleaned nearly every day always clean towels, apartment was basic but clean, only problem was the beds creaked every time you moved, pool area was great, a shame bar in the pool wasn't open, food was adequate and plentiful and staff were polite and helpful. Only downfall was that there wasn't much to do outside the hotel but it was a free bus or a cheap taxi ride into town. All in all worth the price and we would go again.

Hubby and I just returned from 1 weeks holiday and was not too sure what to expect after reading some of the reviews
Food is very repetitive but we certainly didn't starve, staff very helpful, room very spacious and clean with nice size balcony, lovely pool area nice and private with lots of sun beds without getting out of bed at stupid times to reserve one.
Johnathan bar man was great and made me some fantastic cocktails, no entertainment in the evening except karaoke but we met some lovely people who are now friends.
Lovely walk along the coastal road to feed the chipmunks or catch the courtesy bus to the next resort for shopping, beach, etc
Overall for what we paid we had a fabulous week, will definitely go back to Fuerteventura as the weather was great especially with the lovely breeze but will probably stay in a different resort.

Travelled in a party of 4.Had rooms next to each other which was good. The area around the hotel is very sparse and has a lot of empty apartments.Back to the hotel,if you like English food served Luke warm and not a lot of choice you will enjoy it.House keeping is nearly non existent with towels changed twice in 7 days and bed linen only changed once.Beds are single and pushed together with the thinnest mattresses I have ever slept on.The hotel is all inclusive and drinks are served in plastic beakers,if you pay for a drink you may be lucky and get a glass. The staff are very helpful and spoke very good English,Enrico on the reception was fantastic and went out of his way to help you with directions and booking trips etc.All in all a remodel and some descent beds and food would make this hotel a lot better, would I return to this hotel No,would I advise a visit to this hotel Yes,just remember you pay for what you get

I,ll keep it short. Enjoyed 95% of our 2 weeks at this hotel. Food varied & good. Staff very helpful. No unexpected costs incurred. Room clean & spacious. All inclusive was all inclusive. Snack bar kept in a proper manner. Pool well cared for. Local area a bit sparse. Will probably return, but after a while.

Room Tip: Most rooms were o k.

Only get what you pay for. Was o.k. but they play loud music at pool all day, very annoying! Ask for away from the pool bar, they even play spanish radio when there is no one there. Pool is very deep, not suitable for small children and poorly lit at night. Any one could fall in to the pool, especially when children are running about at night.

Room Tip: Tell them to turn off music!

Me and my sister went here back in June 2013. The photos and reviews of the hotel were great, but when we got there it was a different story.

We had no hot water when using the shower, despite turning the temperature up on shower AND the hot water tank, the bathroom had not seen a deep clean in a very long time, the decor was very tired and dated depsite having recently been done up?! The pool bar doesnt get used, we were told that it had been there 10 years and not once had anyone served a drink from it!

The staff were friendly. But the night time entertainment for the week we were there consisted of Karaoke, Bingo and more Karaoke!! Alothough one night they had a reptile show which was supposed to start at 10pm, 12midnight the guy showed up a snake, Iguana and a skunk?!

We were told about the Barceló Castillo Beach Resort and that they had a Grease night on one night, so thought we'd give it a go. Ther hotel was lovely, modern and friendly staff. We didnt want to go back to our hotel after just a few hours here!!

I wouldnt go back to Costa Tropical, the only good thing about this place was the pizza restaurant and brilliantly hot weather!!
