“Very nice place to stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2013

Stayed for 1 night to split up a journey and had a very enjoyable nights sleep. Rooms very clean and comfy. The bathroom was nice and the shower almost knocked me over! There is a Beefeater next door which does fine food and the breakfast was delightful. I only have one criticism, the heat. Unfortunately there is no air con but it was 28 degrees at the time! Overall very pleasant 4/5.

stayed here with work in June. room was clean - just what you would expect from a premier inn. The walls and floors are thin as heard noise all night from people walking about and from their tvs. Restaurant was nice with a very attentive waitress at night. Shame she wasn't there in the morning - we were kept waiting to be seated and then offered a full cooked breakfast, she offered to come back in a couple of mins to find out what we wanted - she never came back! croissants were dry and toaster burnt the toast. Only ok if you drive - miles and miles from centre of town and train station

Walls are thin and noise from other rooms and corridor will disturb you. The smell in the room and bathroom was a damp smell. Room was hot and scouting been adjusted. Parking is difficult as not many spaces.

Room was comfortable and spacious, but extremely hot. It hadn't even been a very hot day. Windows didn't open very far and there was no air con. Fan provided but just moved hot air about! Too hot to sleep

4 of us stayed on a Friday night when visiting family in Newport. We were allocated 1st floor rooms, both good sized, with double & single bed(we had requested twins). The rooms have everything you might need, tv, hairdryer, kettle etc. No toiletries in the bathroom other than soap in dispensers. The bathroom was well appointed and the water hot. The rooms were very warm, although you can't open the window more than a couple of inches, but a fan is provided. There was noise from the motorway and roads when the window was open. There did not appear to be any noise from adjacent rooms, even though the hotel was full of families with small children en route to their holiday destinations.. We opted for the inclusive continental breakfast, cereals, croissants, toast, fruit juices etc, which was a good standard. The receptionist was efficient on check in, rather than friendly. The waiting on staff were very cheery and helpful
For a quick one night stay, everything was very acceptable.

We've stayed at this Premier Inn a few times before and it's always been fine, but this time we got no sleep because it was unbearably hot and uncomfortable. The temperature in the room overnight varied between 32 and 34 degrees, and we couldn't open the windows any more than a couple of centimetres - their opening had been restricted. We had a fan, but although we had it on the highest speed setting, it only blew hot air around.
I would never stay here in warm weather again - I can't believe that the windows were restricted when it was so warm!! We rushed out the next morning - couldn't bear to stay longer than we had to. This will make me think again about staying in a Premier Inn in the Summer.
