“Awesome vibe-great place to get away from business of Tayrona”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 13, 2014

Great chill place 10 mins from the Parque Tayrona... Plethora of hammocks and places to chill, SUPER nice owners (Canadian) and really beautiful beach that isn't jampacked like Tayrona was...good alternative if you don't feel like dealing with the crowds inside the park. Food was ok. Not amazing but good veggie options which is unusual.

Only negative was they messed up our reservation but ended up being fine because they sent us to their sister hostel which was cool as well. Do keep in mind this place is very rustic and isn't really about being clean more than just having a place to hang a hammock/chill on the beach. If you are finnicky about bugs and not having dirt floors etc...not for you. But otherwise GREAT place

The isolated location with huge stretch of quiet beach is amazing. The grounds are beautiful with flowers and hammocks right on the stunning beach.

We stayed in a little private hut which are great. Comfortable mattress, good mozzie net and the sound of the sea.

They have a camp kitchen that is good if you borrow pots and pans etc from the other kitchen. But obviously you have to bring your own food as no shops are anywhere nearby.

We felt that we were paying plenty as it was and it seemed like money was trying to be squeezed out of us. Charging for drinking water and towel rental is harsh. As for dinners we were shocked at the poor value of these. The portions were ridiculously small and nothing special about the food. They could at least give more rice or something that costs little so that people can fill up. I would want 2 of each meal to last me the day... (I'm not overweight).

With so many people staying they need to make more bathrooms.

Also providing candles for the huts would be a nice touch.

The beach makes up for small gripes. It is a very memorable place.

Without doubt our favourite hostel in Colombia.

We heard about it through word of mouth as at the time we visited it wasn't in the guide book. The Canadian owner Brian is fascinating and has some great stories which he'll happily share with you over a cold beer - ask him about 'ghost dog and the falling coconut'. The whole feel of the place is laid back and fun. They serve very well priced communal meals each day so you feel like you are being welcomed into their little community rather than paying to be there. Great food is cooked each day using locally sourced ingredients made on an organic ranch nearby which is run by Brian's brother - go and visit!

Make sure you are there on Saturday nights because they have a party on the beach! When we stayed there were 2 DJ's passing through (Roberto Savvagio) who played house music all night long on the beach. Without doubt of the best/most special nights of our life. Loved it.

Advise coming here if in a group or as a solo traveler. Good place to slow down and unwind if you have been on the road for a while. We could easily have stayed here for a couple of weeks. So thank you for making our stay so memorable, we really didn't want to leave!

The ATMOSPHERE; This was one of the most chilled places we landed in Columbia. Away from everything you feel so safe, relaxed and super chilled! there is a very friendly and chilled vibe at this place. You feel so content to sleep the days away in a hammock, walk the deserted beach, read a book, surf or go vist a waterfall - its all there!
The ACCOMODATION; We stayed in a double ROOM (not a beach hut) and it was fabulous - waking up to the sound of the waves and seeing the swinging palm trees from our bed. a private bathroom and mozzie net.
The FOOD; ... was good! something different every day and most of the time its all locally grown or caught!
The SURF; if your a begginer or getting into it - its great! however the more advanced surfer can also get a thrill too. The waves were a bit all over in the month of early December - however its meant to get much better. either way was good for practice and if you know what your doing you can make it work.
A perfect place to chill out=)

For me one of the most chilled out places of Colombia. Good food, very friendly people/staff and especially for the Caribbean coast, very cheap. I would love to go back there. The beach is very quiet and great if you want to take a good rest from the hectic Colombian cities.

I visited here for 3 days, it was my first time surfing and while the waves were more intense than expected it was an absolute blast. The food was great, the price was very reasonable and the staff was very friendly to us. I hope to visit again and stay longer.

The only downside I can think of is that the crowd staying there was a little on the rowdy hostel side.
