“Decent stopover”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2013

We stopped at kiwi 360 on the way to Mount Maunganui. Didn't do the tour just stopped for a drink. Took over 15 minutes for a hot chocolate and latte to arrive, which wasn't worth the wait. Gift shop was good stocked with lots of souvenirs. Kiwi fruit tasting was great, especially liked the gold kiwi and the kiwi fruit wine. The giant kiwi fruit is good for a photo. Overall decent stop off! Cute cat!

Hi Rita C,
Thanks for your comments.
We are pleased you enjoyed your visit.
I see you are from Taiwan, where we know there are many pick-your-own fruit farms in your country.
Taiwan is one of the best markets in the world for NZ kiwi, as are many other Asian countries.
By visiting Kiwi360, people love to see how the 'World's Healthiest Fruit' is produced to such a high quality and volume ( 100 million trays per annum )
Happy travelling

I love kiwifruit, but never see it on the orchard before. I learn a lot of knowledge of kiwifruit and other fruit in kiwi360. And the guide is very nice and professional. There are many kiwi products and delicious kiwi ice cream in gift shop. It is an interesting and good experience for me.

Hi Rita C
Your comments are appreciated.
While visiting, and perhaps staying in the Te Puke region at this yime of the year, you will have noticed the large number of seasonal workers from all parts of the world helping with the annual harvest.
I can tell you that in total, we need more than 20 000 people, both local and international, to get the 100 million trays of kiwi off the vines, graded, and safely into coolstorage.
Many people from Asian countries like yours are able to come to NZ on specail visas from 3 - 6 months each year.
It was good that you were able to taste and see the other products which are made from the kiwis which are not exported to the 60 countries around the world.
Make sure you come back some time.

Regards Graeme C

Hi Beverly C,
Thank you for bringing your visiting friends to Kiwi360. Being from our province you will probably know that nearly all of NZ's kiwis are grown in the Bay of Plenty. In fact, there are approximately 2500 kiwifruit orchards in the our small region, but only Kiwi360 is set up to accommodate visitors to an averaged sized, working, export kiwi orchard. it is easy for local residents to bring their visiting friends and relatives here to enjoy the informative tour, the retail area and the courtyard cafe/restaurant. I'm sure Joy, one of our experienced guides, will will appreciate you kind remarks too. Graeme C.

Hi Jessiexie,

I guess from your name you may have visited us from one of the areas of the world where kiwis are very famous and very popular, especially the gold kiwis. I know they are very expensive to buy in the shops back home but I hope you were able to taste lots of them when you visited us. And yes, the kiwi ice cream is delicious.
Thanks for coming again!

Hi Peggy H
As you found out, not only do we have an averaged sized commercial kiwifruit orchard on our property, we also have 60 or 70 different varieties of other fruit and nut trees which also grow quite naturally in the unique climatic and soil conditions in which the kiwi thrives.
Thanks for you comment
