“Tour was not worth the money”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed February 1, 2012

We stopped at the Kiwi 360 after an enjoyable trip to Wai O Tapu and was so disappointed we spent $70 for 3 adults 1 child to go on a tour of the plantation which involved a driver turning on his iPod for the "interactive commentary" which was not even in sync! Tour was half an hour of driving through the plantation which was not worth the money. We got to see the same stuff from the entrance, the highlight was the giant kiwi and that was probably the only good thing about it.

“20 Dollar each for the tour, thanks but no thanks”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 26, 2012

Going along the bay of islands Kiwi 360 can hardly be missed due to the big fruit and the fact that many travle guides recommed it.

We planned a little stop in there and what you get is nice restrooms, a very large souvenir shop) they are pretty free on samples but also try to sell) a cafe and the opportunity to have a tour into the Kiwiorchard. We decided not to take it (btw, it is one per hour so you might be in for a wait) and instead climbed the stairs inside the Kiwi fruit which gave us a nice scenic look.

In case you do not know how Kiwis look on a tree and the farming of them this might be a helpful stop, otherwise it is not so interesting but potentially expensive.

Nice to learn more about kiwifruit in a well-kept orchard. Staff are friendly and the shop offers a big variety of local products and souvenirs.

“Fun to see”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 16, 2011

We enjoyed the drive up to Te Puke to see the home of the Kiwi fruit. Very clean area with wonderful landscaping to greet you. We took the little ride around the Kiwi farm and saw an abundance of fruit trees, including, orange, grapefruit, avocado, walnut, lemon, persimmon. Our host was extremly knowledgeble and explained the process of kiwi life. The store was very nice and we were able to sample kiwi's, kiwi juice and kiwi wine. Not overly expensive and an eye opener with regards to kiwi fruit.

“A delicious stop”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 12, 2011

We stopped at Kiwi 360 as part of a tour and we really enjoyed it. We saw how kiwi grow on vines and had the kiwi industry explained to us. Inside, the staff cut fresh samples of kiwi fruit as fast as we could eat it, and we got to sample several other products including kiwi juice, wine, and jam. We brought home some kiwi wine and some jam because it was so delicious. And the gift shop had a lot of variety - great gift ideas.
