“Room for improvement”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 1, 2012 via mobile

On the basis of all the good reviews, I went here for Sunday lunch, and was very disappointed. We were the only people in there for the first hour or so, so service should have been excellent, but it took twenty minutes for the waitress to offer us any drinks. About another 20 minute wait for our food order to be taken, then a thirty minute wait for our food. 15 mins for our plates to be cleared, 15 mins for our dessert order to be taken, and so it went on. The gents loos are outside, where you literally urinate up against a wall (albeit one painted black). Snail (or possibly slug) trails under the table next to us. Dirty marks on the tablecloths...Food was ok, though, and the real ales were obviously well kept. Just don't understand all the rave reviews for this place, though. For the effort it takes to get to this out-of-the-way pub, it needs to be so much better.

“slow and a bit expensive”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2012

Perhaps not a good idea to eat there on a Sunday evening but the service was leaden and the food poor (rack of lamb impossibly fatty and a sort of stodgy pie). I think we resented the lamb because here, on the Welsh borders, it should be excellent. It was - for a pub - very expensive.

“Needs attention”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2012

Recently stayed on the back of some outstanding reviews that must be questionable.

Good first. The accommodation is excellent. The inn is as old and authentic as described. The village and area are lovely and it is very peaceful. The staff are fine and the accommodation prices are reasonable.

Down side. The food served in the restaurant at night is not up to standard and the prices are above the quality provided. Basic pub food. Breakfast is fine, no complaints. They do however have an unavoidable problem that needs immediate attention as it affects the whole of the hotel/accommodation and is a health and safety issue. The "Gentleman's" toilet is situated a few feet outside the back entrance to the bar and restaurant and is badly infested with flies. You are attacked on entry by hundreds of them. It also stinks and this spreads into the bar area. The accommodation is about 30 yards away and the flies get in the windows there as well. Spoils everything for me. Pity, because with a bit more effort it could be lovely.

“Very Quaint”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2012

It took us a little while to find The Pandy Inn and initial looks (??) However, what a gem. The Pub is tiny inside, a very typical old English pub. The food was good and the accommodation an experience. Very clean and maintained - it is apparently a Polish construction, looks a little like Jenga blocks but certainly comfortable. The staff are first rate and couldn't have been more helpful. We arrived late and were given the last room (no. 5). We were most grateful - I think one of the staff had given it up. The restaurant and bar are lovely and the food plentiful.

“100% would recommend!! The room was LOVELY!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 16, 2012

We absolutely loved staying at Pandy Inn. The service was outstanding and extremely friendly, The gentleman that serviced us for our whole stay was lovely and really friendly. The Room was spotless nothing to complain about at all. We decided to pay a little extra for the room with the balcony, 100% worth it. after all this rain, we actually got some sunshine and the balcony has the sun shining on it till it went down, so we really enjoyed a few beers on the balcony from the pub before going for our meal in their restaurant!! Would 100% go back again!!

My only tiny niggle with the room was that the windows in the ceiling lets in some light in the morning so the room is quite light early in the morning. But I'm extremely light sleeper, so probably wouldnt effect others.

LOVED IT! Thank you!!
