Owner description: For a unique experience and a very warm welcome, the stunning Wedgwood Museum is the place to visit - whether you just like looking at beautiful objects or have a specialist interest. We are the home of one of the most interesting ceramic collections in the world. Our galleries tell the story of Josiah Wedgwood, his family, and the company he founded two-and-a-half centuries ago. New visitor experience for 2015! As a result, we are closing the site to customers from 24th December 2014 through until June 2015.

“An outstanding collection of one mans vision”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2012

The collection is vast and shows the effects of the enquiring mind of Josiah Wedgwood and his friends. The displays of fine china and porcelain and the skills displayed by the potters and paintresses are amazing. Well worth a visit.
Getting there can be tricky as some of teh direction signs have been blown down and not replaced by local tourist board. Google maps was of assistance

“Good if it lasts”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 19, 2012

A bit "off the beaten track, free parking, very interesting and a MUST visit if you are on a "Pottery Tour" - visit Gladstone, Portmeirion, Moorcroft & any others in the area if you go here - there are some brilliant smaller visitors centers too. However, since going into receivership - rumour has it that they will have to sell the "crown jewels"

“Much More Than Pottery!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2011

This is a fabulous attraction & provides so much more than a history of the pottery, it is also a social history of the era & provides a fascinating insight into this forward-thinking man & his extended family. The artefacts are well presented & there are a lot of interactive exhibits. What is also of interest is the threads that run between the Wedgwood family & other notaries of the same period, eg Darwin. In addition to the exhibits there is also a factory tour (at certain times of the year) this is also a must & so interesting. The museum is within the visitor's centre & there are a number of shops & seconds outlets plus a cafe & restaurant. There is such a lot to see here that you must allow as much time as possible - or come back again!!
