“Just Perfect!!!!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 15, 2014

We were on our way to Manali & had stayed in Sundar Nagar for a night. We got a call in the morning from the hotel in Manali that it has snowed overnight hence we cannot travel further up. We were also advised to either stay in the same hotel or look for an option in Kullu. I remembered this resort while I was searching for various hotel options in Manali & its vicinity.

I called up the resort & was informed that cottages were available & they had also experienced snowfall which was our main purpose for travelling to Manali. The resort is on the way to Manikaran & very easy to locate & to stay there was a sheer delight. The cottage was nice & spacious with all the basic amenities. What took us by complete surprise was the attention given to even smallest of details to make the stay even more comfortable. The cottage had recent issues of various entertainment publications, the bathrooms had shaving & dental kits, there was a full service minibar with wafers & chocolates, there was a tower heater as well as blower in the room & the bed even had an electric blanket. They even provided us with a personalized welcome letter & served amazing masala tea as welcome drink.

The food is delicious & you get amazing variety of cuisine in the menu which is even better then most of the five stars in Himachal Pradesh. The fact that they have two menus placed in the room, one for vegetarians & the other for non - vegetarians will give you an idea of the kind of options that one can look forward to.

The service is absolutely professional as well as prompt & they will ensure that you do not face any discomfort during your stay. They were able to serve us piping hot food even in sub zero temperature & we were quite cozy with the electric blankets hence it was difficult for us to move out the next morning. Since, we had prior booking in Manali & they called us to inform that the roads were clear, we had no choice but to check out.

Given the option, we would have not liked to stay just for one night but extend for another couple of nights. This place is already a top priority for our next vacation & we cannot wait for visit the resort again.

Unfortunately, since it was quite cold so we could not see the entire resort but it looks like a very beautifully constructed place with cottages as well as Machaans. Mr. Aman Sood, who is the owner really deserves full credit to make this place such a wonderful option for a peaceful yet comfortable getaway. I hope he can come up with something to occupy small kids also.

Room Tip: Try & stay in the Machaan if you can. Be careful while driving as it is a single & narro...

So right after my visit to this place I wanted to come back and write a review, which never happened thanks to the crazy hectic Delhi life! We (4 of us- my husband, brother and sister) only had a weekend off and wanted a real break from the heat and routine of Delhi life! We hqd heard amazing reviews of the Himalayan village from friends and it was on too of my list of places to go to! The choice wasn't easy, considering a 28 hour drive to and fro from Delhi, would have actually left us with little time to actually enjoy Kasol! The journey was hectic, but the place compensated and instantly took all our tiredness away! We were greeted by a bunch of the most adorable dogs, and I think we spent almost 15 mins with them before we decided to go explore the rest of the place. I could write so much about it, but in short the place was a vishal delight, I would call it 'mini heaven' because you find yourself surrounded by nature's best- a deep forest behind and a gorgeous river flowing in front! The views are definitely breathtaking, and there is a lot to explore in the area around if someone is willing to! The food was great, although We did misS out on the well known home cooked dinner we had heard so much about! The breakfast was included and had evrvy possible thing one could think of! We were happy :) I have to say that this place is one of the most beautifully designed places I have seen in north India, be it the cottages, the machans or the gardens. There is just so much attention to detail and maintenance is beyond words. Everything was perfect, which is something I have never experienced in most smaller hotels in India! I think what truly seperates this place from its counterparts is the personalized attention put in by the owners. The passion and love is clearly visible and that really inspires one! They arrange for anything and everything you may require ( from your smallest to the biggest needs :)) and provided us with a really good guide for our trek up malana and the magic valley. I can only say I wish I could have stayed longer, specially because the place was so charming that we hardly managed to get out and explore the city! I am definitely going back when I need my next 'real break'! Thank you The Himalayan village' :)

We have arrived here after nearly 2 days of driving and was completely taken aback by the beauty of the property. The place has lived unto the expectations set by the images.
Good hospitality and huge rooms.

Room Tip: We stayed at the Munnar Room and it had the good view but the machan rooms have an excellent view. O...

The property is very beautiful and peacefull. Each cottage is very exclusive and there is a good view of mountains in front. I was coming from MANALI and took a break here before going to DELHI. From here Manikaran is very close by. The owner takes personal care of the operations. Cottages are very spacious and food is excellent. Only thing I miss was that in the evening there is nothing to do, there should be some evening event for all. We stayed for 02 nights.

Thank you for your wonderful reviews. We are pleased that you loved the beauty of the resort and the views around.. We are happy to know that you loved our food and our services. We do have cultural program in the evening and bonfire. We will surely look to add up some more activities though our idea is to keep the evenings private for the guest. We look forward to hosting you again in near future.

We stayed in the two Machans, called Kullu and Lahaul, in December.
The first thing to be mentioned is the property, which is awesome. From previous reviews, we were already prepared for the flight of stairs leading to the two machans :D. Kullu is the higher one, Lahaul slightly lower. They were both great, very private and extremely beautifully done. The front view is of the resort itself and Parvati river gushing by; Deodar forest is behind!
It's extremely cold because of the location.
We had an extra person in one Machan. They provided an extra heater on request and with bed warmers, the stay was quite cozy.
The service was excellent; the food lip-smacking! They have some local cuisine to try.

Overall, it's a experience you can't miss!!

Room Tip: Machans are quite unique

This year we decided to tag along our four pawed family member for our family holiday, as the warm reception received at The Himalayan Vlllage made it every bit memorable. Our family has travelled extensively, but our stay at this particular resort was a totally mind blowing experience. The owners, the staff, and all the dogs at this resort were more than welcoming! Loved the stay. Will definitely be visiting it again.

All in all, this The Himalayan Village shows the famous amazing Himalayan hospitality that Himachal Pradesh is famous for. Food to die for, views to live for and service to tip for. Need I say more. Kasol is not the best place, but the hotel makes it worth it
