“Stylish, comfortable accommodation”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2013

Norton House provides stylish, comfortable accommodation with lovely walks from the doorstep. Jayne and Bill are very welcoming hosts and provide a scrumptious breakfast. From the homemade cake in the guest lounge to the biscuits, fruit and drink-making facilities in the room, our hosts know how to provide a first class stay.

I arrived rather tired and wondered what the B&B would be like - from the first encounter at the driveway to the last - cycling off after breakfast it was first class. A warm professional welcoming - the weather was great, which always helps, and the rooms are spacious, clean and airy. Bill & Jayne are lovely hosts and the UK B&B Blueprint for quality and service should be based on their model. Breakfast was very good quality - I was ready for the next part of my cycle trip.

A very handily placed B&B with fine furnishings and friendly owners who cook breakfast as it should be cooked, to order and beautifully presented. I had the twin room at the front where I could hear the A40 but then I could have closed the shutters if I was disturbed by it. It was not an issue.
Without hesitation, I would recommend this hostelry and hope to return before the year is out.

Me and my partner spent the 23/8 till the 25/8 here and I have to say it is an amazing place to just relax and get away from it all. Nice sized rooms and the breakfasts are to die for anyone going here must try the American pancakes they are amazing the first morning I had to get a second serving!!! Bill and Jayne were amazing hosts, they give great advice if your looking for something to do, It was also nice to talk American football with Bill.
We would come back here again and recommend it to anyone. Thanks for making that weekend just a bit more special.

A few days away from the 'rat race' was the intention, which was made all the more enjoyable by the perfect hosts Jayne and Bill, who were always willing to help with local information and advice, Norton House is the perfect place for peace and quiet, but is conveniently placed for easy access to the Wye Valley and surrounding areas. Norton House without a doubt is the place we will come back to in the not to distant future.

Room Tip: The choice is yours, but we stayed in the Doward Room and will ask for this room next time.

The owners of Norton House made us feel so welcome and relaxed.. Wonderful clean fresh bedroom and bathroom with many extras. Comfortable quality mattress I liked the fact that they put wine glasses and a bottle opener in the room thus letting you know that you was welcome to take a drink into the room. [Scared of spilling the red wine though on the beautiful furnishings] Breakfast was cooked to perfection and just for you. The full English looked great but I had the alternative and really enjoyed it. When breakfast was ending they both came out to chat to us all and make sure our food was to our liking. Everyone sat at one big dining table which made it feel friendly Everyone chatted to each other and shared what they had done the previous day. The area is beautiful with lots of things to see and do. You can even borrow walking maps off them. Will go again. Definitely.

Hi Pauline, its good to know you enjoyed your stay and even better to know you had a great time in the Wye valley, we are fortunate to live in such a great area and enjoy being able to help guests find some great walks and interesting places to see while in the area, until the next time.

Rarely in this day and age do you stay somewhere where you are made to feel like one of the family rather than a guest. Jayne and Bill are the perfect hosts, nothing is too much trouble and the place is comfort itself.
Norton House is a 'must stay' place if you are in the area, from the welcome tea and cakes to the chocolates and biscuits in the room it is just heaven.
The breakfast is a whole days worth of food in itself, cereal, full english, toast and home made preserves all help to fill you up, and they are not shy with the portions either, you must try Bills american pancakes, beautiful..

Cant wait to go back again..

Room Tip: we stayed in the Monmouth room, it has a lovely window seat and the sun beams through in the morning...
