We had an excellent stay here. We were in Room 1 and found it to be very quiet -- no highway noise at all. It's true that if someone were having a tailgate party in the parking lot, you'd hear it, but it would be reasonable to ask people like that to move to the picnic tables below or their room... .
A few people below complain about the lack of TV, phone even -- gasp! -- a clock. I carry a wrist watch and the total lack of gizmos with their blinking LEDs at night was another plus for this place. Comfortable bed. Definitely nothing fancy about the rooms -- they're a tad worn, so if that's important to you, this may not be the place.
And, of course, you're paying for the view, which is worth it. Rooms 1 and 2 (and, I think, 3) look out to the south along a great stretch of coast. With binoculars you could pick out whales and, perhaps, sea otters. Alas, we missed both though they're around. Staff was very friendly as were the people staying there on our visit.
The dining room has an equally outstanding view. Dinner was OK, not great but not bad. Nor did it have much of a wine list. Maybe a tad overpirced, but I'm guessing they've got to go to Monterey for supplies. And, once again, you're paying for the view. Well worth it.
The buffet breakfast was also OK. Nothing fancy, but good. Sat out on the deck and drank coffee and watched for whales for a couple of hours (the restaurant is otherwise closed, so it's only guests).
An enjoyable time. Highly recommended.
