My family and I just got back from our spring break stay at Ripplewwod Resort in Big Sur, Ca. We were looking forward to spending time with our two sons ages 12 and 9 in the in the beautiful surroundings with no TV, phone, computer, cell reception, or video games. It was just what we wanted and the boys did not complain once or miss the technology. There was so much to do and the cabin( #10 ) was so cozy and charming. It is not for anyone who expects first class or perfection but for a family wanting a nice get away in a wonderful environment...it is perfect. We did not have much contact with the staff. Those we did encouter were hit and miss. Several staffers were very nice and several could not have cared less. Oh well...we were not there to make friends. Our cabin was always clean, beds made, fire wood everyday. Dishes are few and miss matched but it adds to the charm. If this bothers you, bring your own. If possible and available the cabins on the lake are awesome. We will try for one next time. We will be back for sure...most likely next spring break.

This is a nice set of rustic cabins right in the heart of big sur. They are simple cabins with mixed dishes/utensils. We rented three. One had a fireplace, the other two had back porches. I slept well, but my husband had a hard time because he could hear the heater turn on and off. There were some cabins that are closer to highway and I would imagine they are louder. We had number 2 which was right next to the river and had a very scienic deck.
