“A week in Paradise!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 24, 2013

My girlfriend and I just returned from a week's vacation at one of the most beautiful, friendly and comfortable resorts that we have ever visited. We were looking for a smaller, friendlier and more peaceful resort, and to say that we were pleasantly surprised is a gross understatement. In fact, we were both totally thrilled and enchanted by the exquisite seaside location, the soft sandy beach, the quality of the rooms and the variety of services we received. The staff at the resort are very friendly, courteous and helpful and have a natural "joie de vivre" which is absolutely infectious. We appreciated them all, whether receiving our beverages delivered to our lounge chairs at the beach, or being served our delicious food promptly and efficiently at whichever restaurant we chose. The office staff, and particularly Alain Martin, were invaluable in their assistance with any and all of our questions.

Our delightful trip began at the airport where we were met by Manuel in a Mercedes van and chauffeured to the hotel. The twenty minute ride was made even more pleasant by the fine chilled champagne and cool facial towels that we were offered, and gladly accepted. When we arrived at the resort our bags were taken to our suite and we were given a quick tour of the gorgeous surroundings. We were then escorted to our room which was breathtakingly beautiful. We chose to stay on the third floor and had a stunning view of the beach and ocean and the privacy of our own spacious and comfortable terrace. There was also a lovely balcony off of our large bedroom. The bathroom was luxurious and extremely practical with lots of room for both of us to enjoy the large bath, walk-in shower and double sinks. The artwork in the rooms and the gorgeous fixtures added to the overall pleasure of being there. Needless to say, our suite was kept spotless by the constant care of the chamber-maids who visited at least twice each day.

The grounds of the resort are equally impressive, with a large variety of tropical plants and flowers, not to mention the native wildlife - countless iguanas and a variety of colourful parrots and other birds. It was always a pleasure to see these delightful creatures in their native habitat. In fact, wherever one looked there was so much natural and man-made beauty to behold.

The food at the restaurants was delicious, healthy and included both vegetarian and fish and meat dishes. The breakfasts were one of our favourite meals, served in the outside patio and included an abundance of fresh fruit, smoothies, juices, bread and rolls, eggs cooked in any style, cereals and pancakes; as well as both regular and espresso coffees and teas. Plus we were serenaded by a very accomplished musician on the harp who played everything from the Beatles to Beethoven! The other restaurants were equally wonderful, and we especially enjoyed the fresh fish at the Sushi Bar in the afternoons. The tuna sashimi is not to be missed!

One of our interests is tennis, and we were very pleased to find a very well maintained court which was also lit at night. There is also a spa which seems lovely but we did not spend much time there. We did take some yoga classes and also went on a snorkelling trip off of the barrier reef, which is the second longest in the world. Many thanks to Alex at the Marina for giving us some helpful suggestions. We also took a wonderful day trip with our friendly chauffeur, Jorge, to visit the Mayan ruins at Tulum and then do some shopping in Playa del Carmen. A great day of touring, but be sure to bargain if you decide to purchase any of the many beautiful cloths or jewelry that they sell.

We are now back home in over 3 feet of snow, but our hearts are still warmed by the beauty, friendliness and much appreciated comfort of this spectacular resort. We want to thank Alain, Alex and all of the other marvellous people who helped make our stay so memorable. We hope to see you all again soon!

Muchos Gracias! Hasta Luego!

Room Tip: We loved our room on the third floor. A magnificent view and lots of privacy.

Each time I visit Zoetry I return home more relaxed than I thought possible. The beauty of the resort is matched by incredible food and the friendliness of all the employees. We had the pleasure of being served by Erick, Francisco, Antonio, Alex, Cesar, Andres, Hugo, Sergio... and I'm sure others I can't recall. Each employee is as professional as they are friendly. They truly go out of their way to ensure our every need was met. I hope to return soon!

I went to Zoetry with a group of girlfriends. The resort is lovely with beautiful gardens and grounds The rooms are huge and nicely appointed. Mine had a king sized bed and the bedding was super soft. The bathroom included a large shower and sunk-in tub. The balcony had a chaise on it and 2 chairs plus a little table. The food was very good, everything was ordered ala carte. My one complaint was that a few of the servers were too forward and too familiar, rather than the professionals they were supposed to be. It's OK to be friendly, but don't pretend we're best friends, comprende? We didn't tip and as a result we didn't get great service around the pool but we were fine with the tradeoff. Towels and lounges were available, especially on the beach. We loved Gabby's yoga classes which take place on the pier - I have never had such a memorable yoga class. The sunset catamaran ride was truly special, the champagne flowed as it should. We also enjoyed the boat trip to shopping and we liked the mayan ceremony on the beach. The spa was included in the price and if you like to sauna you'll appreciate theirs.

We recently returned from a 5 day stay at a beautiful resort. Zoetry Paraiso de Bonita is the cleanest and one of the friendliest resorts we have ever visited. We lounged on the beach and enjoyed the indulgent beverage services of Erik. He had a prime spot on the ocean ready for us bright and early every morning. Our room was ocean front (every room is!) and the view was spectacular. I rise early and as I made my way to the coffee service area every morning I passed many staff members cleaning, preparing and stocking for the days activities. Everyone was friendly and couldn't have been more helpful. This is an all inclusive five star resort so we wondered what the food and drinks would be like. The drinks are made with top shelf ingredients and they are so accommodating if you want anything special. The food was good in general but spectacular in the dressy restaurant. You do have to go prepared though because they are strict with the dress code. breakfast was also a standout meal. This resort is a boutique resort so it is small but there are some special features you shouldn't miss. Armando, who performs on Thursday nights, is a very entertaining mystic. The salt water pool is worth the effort of finding your way in. The beach is beautiful and a long walk is a must. the sunset cruise is awesome but book as soon as you arrive as it fills up very quickly. we also purchased a 4 hour sail with snorkeling and we had so much fun, I would really recommend it. My husband snorkeled and said it was one of his best snorkeling experiences ever. We are people who love our winter sun vacation and have been all over the Caribbean and we recommend this resort highly.

My husband and I stayed at Zoetry in late December of 2011 for 4 nights for our 10 year anniversary. It was absolutely beautiful. Gorgeous room with a large, immaculate bathroom, fantastic service, comfortable chairs by the pool and an amazing spa. It was exactly what we were looking for in a small, spa retreat- just to relax and read by the pool with a drink refreshed when it got low. Another perk was the transportation to and from the airport. I gave the resort 4 stars for two reasons: 1) The food was just ok. Very small portions and not many options. The breakfast was fantastic but the other meals were all just mediocre. I really wish I had had the guts to order more than one entree at a time and I am not a big eater! 2) The last day there a wedding party came in with children. We have 2 small children so we can sympathize to some extent but there was absolutely NO supervision by the parents/adults and the loud children ruined the day by the pool. The staff ignored everyone's complaints. Sadly, it took me awhile to remember all of the good parts of our trip because the last memory was of loud, out of control children and obnoxious adults without even an apology from the staff. That said, we would recommend this resort if you are looking for a relaxing retreat.

Dear scatheart,

We would like to thank you for your time to share your feedback, this will allow us to identify our opportunity areas and make the proper corrective actions.

We are overjoyed to know that you have enjoyed a fantastic service and a relaxing time at the spa.

We regret to know that we didnt met your expectations with the food portions, however our guests can order all the meals selection as many times as they decide.

We also regret to know about your discomfort caused by the presence of some children´s. We are an adult oriented property, however guests have asked some occasions if they can bring their children´s, they have been informed that they will need to pay an adult rate no matter their age, and also they are warn that we don’t have any specific area or activities for them. So is not so common to see children’s around because of these politics.

We hope to have another opportunity to host you again near in the future to offer a memorable stay.

I just returned from staying at this wonderful resort, having stayed there to celebrate 18 years of marriage. I was not disappointed.
Before I get into the details, I must preface my comments by providing a helpful tip to everyone flying in to Cancun Airport. Make sure you have transportation pre-arranged and that you are well aware of where to meet once you exit the Customs area. When you exit the Customs area, where you collect your luggage, you will be greeted by friendly people that looked as if they are official airport personnel. They are not! These are "Promoters" (or Promotor in Spanish), whose role is to get you to go to their respective resorts to view their "vacation clubs" or "time share" programs in exchange for a lunch or a SPA treatment.
Avoid stopping by politely turning their assistance, and head to the exit where the ground transportation area is. That is why it is important to make sure you have pre-arranged transfers to your hotels. Olympus Tour is a reputable transportation company if you need a reference. Their staff wears bright Orange vests.
Getting back to the Zoetry experience, their package does include transfer back and forth to the airport. Their friendly driver will be waiting for you outside with their sign, and you will be placed on a Mercedes Mini-van and greeted with sparkling wine and cold moist towels. Already your luxury vacation is off to a fine start.
Upon arrival to their secluded locale, their friendly staff will be waiting with a refreshingly cool mint tea. Your hostess will have had you all checked in and will give you a brief tour of the facility, including their Thallasso Spa. You will then be taken to your spacious room.
My recommendation is to get a floor unit, and request a room on the bulidings closest to the beach. You'll want to wake up to see the sunrise with your cup of tea or coffee in hand, and to take in the fresh gulf breeze on the cool morning hours. It is a must!
The meals are very good, and portioned reasonably, keeping with their wellness philosophy. They even print the nutritional information for every dish they prepare daily. We had a bit of a bad experience the first night, when the fried prawns were raw and the re-make was then too fried and chewy. That was the only flaw in their dinning as the rest of the stay, the food was well prepared and you have lots of options...even for vegetarians/vegans.
Although they are listed as a Family resort, but I am not sure it qualifies. This is a place where you go to relax and literally chill. There are no activities other than sailing or snorkeling so I fear kids and teens would quickly develop "hacienda fever". They do offer private tours of the area attractions, so I guess you can use the resort as "home base" but the feel for this resort is more of a getaway to do nothing.
The attention from everyone in the resort is outstanding, and they quickly know you. It is a very personalized service.
I would recommend this resort for couples only, and as a brief romantic getaway. It is truly a beautiful place.
Although they are listed as a "5-diamond Resort", the uncooked prawns unfortunately resulted in my less than excellent rating. It is still a worthwhile resort to visit, and I will go back again.

Room Tip: Get first floor units, on the buildings closest to the beach. Get the rooms with the splash pool in...

My husband and I recently returned from Zoetry. We had been to Mexico previously and stayed in other 5* resorts on the Riviera Maya but this was our first time at this particular resort. While our stay was 'ok' the hotel wasn't fabulous or particularly memorable. The rooms are fine, while not really decorated to my taste (they've gone for a traditional/rustic feel) they are a good size, clean and with ok facilities, although an iPod dock would have been welcome. The beach is nice and kept clean by the staff, a tractor runs up and down chomping up the seaweed and there is beach service for food, drinks, umbrellas. You have to get down very early to secure a bed though, especially if you want a cabana. Same for the pool area, most beds were gone by mid-morning.

However, all of this was ok, my biggest fault with this hotel is the food. It's all inclusive and has 3 restaurants, although when we were there only 2 of the 3 were open on any evening. The food wasn’t bad, and simple things like grilled meat and fish were well cooked, some of the meat quality was excellent. But many of the flavour and ingredient combinations were just really odd. A particularly memorable combination was linguini (over cooked) with mango 'pesto' (as far as I could tell this was mashed warmed mango) with melted parmesan cheese, yuk! The lunch 'casseroles' are literally a huge dish of melted cheese. At dinner, the main dishes were pretty much all meat with very few or no veg or carbs. The kitchen staff appear to have cooking skills but the head chef has some strange menu choices. The house wine was not great, stick to the Merlot or chardonnay for the least offensive options. The only shining light on the food front was the sushi / ceviche bar which for lunch was was really very good.

The only other point I'd add is that although this is all-inclusive resort take some cash (US dollars) for tipping. I've been to other 5* all inclusive that specifically instruct guests not to tip, but this is not the case here. All of the staff are being tipped constantly by the other guests - pool guys, beach guys, restaurant staff etc, so if you want any sort of attentive service you need to tip.

Room Tip: If you can handle the stairs (no lifts) then ask for a room on the top floor for nice beach views

Dear Basherblackburn,

We would like to thank you for your visit and for your time to post a review.

We regret to know that we didn´t met your expectations with the food selection, this selection is an artistic gourmet selection, however our guests will always have the option to enjoy the wellness menu or to order something even when is not listed on the menu and our cheff will gladly prepare this if we have the ingredients available at the moment of ordering.

We also regret to know about the wrong impresion caused by the staff tip, they provide the same personalized and profesional service not expecting a tip, however, some guests decide to leave a tip for the exceptional service received.

We hope to have the opportunity to host you one more time and redeem ourselves and offer you a truly memorable stay.
