We stayed at this place last September and had such high expectations. Things which are now expected at high end all inclusive resorts are just lacking here. Mini Bar very basic and no snacks or liquor (not like Le Blanc)', very short room service menu, the £200 resort credit is just a time share promo, like £10 off decent wine costing up to £100. (At Le Blanc, we drank Moët and Chandon using entirely resort credits). The room fruit bowl was two apples and Champagne was cheap Sparkling Wine, not Champagne. The food was just not good for us, small portions in the guise of Healthy, err, wake up, we are on Holiday.. There was an incident when the night of our Wedding Anniversary, my husband and I went to the signature Restuarant .. Wanting to spend serious money on Wine and proper Champagne and we were turned away, because he had £500 pressed Versace Jeans on with Versace Loafers and a Versace pressed long sleave shirt.. There was no compromise, so our night was in ruins, I was in tears when I complained at the front desk and was told the management would get back to me, but of course, they didn't. With a bed as hard as rock and massive Cockroaches in the room, I could go on and on, but there it is. When we checked out, i think they were glad to see the backs of us and we went to stay at Le Blanc in Cancun, a truly amazing paradise and we are gong back there in March

“Let down...”

My husband and I have been wanting to try this resort for a while. We have stayed at LeBlanc for several years and have always been happy. We triend the Royal Hideaway and were disappointed. We ventured away to try Zoetry on advice from friends, and positive reviews. There was nothing that was necessarily bad about the hotel, but for the price point many service levels were not there. The room was amazing. We stayed in Ajmer. It was impossible to have consistent service from waitstaff. We did tip, but we found the dollar amounts had to be increased each day to continue good service. Housekeeping was inconsistent, but the room always clean. However, dirty dishes would be left outside our room for entire days by the housekeeping staff. The issue was number of towels, etc. Just small items, like those mentioned, make it difficult to recommend or return.
The beach is groomed everyday, but upon getting into the water there is only 5-7 feet of sand before you are in a swell of mud. This is not the hotels fault, but a guest who wants to hang out in the water should be aware. It is a great place to find shells however due to the terrain mix.

“Quiet, Beautiful, Great Service”

The pick up in the Navigator with champagne, fruit and chocolate was a great welcome. We really enjoyed having the private transportation.
We were in Tiro with a plunge pool and right on the beach. Beautiful clean room. They also cleaned our pool. In fact this was the cleanest resort in which I have stayed. (We have stayed in many including Secrets and Sandals.)
The food was the best I have had outside the US. The morning pastries are the best I have eaten anywhere. I also enjoyed the smoked marlin appetizer and the steamed shrimp and scallops for lunch at Kaax. The Foie Gras appetizer at Conoa was outstanding.

No bugs. I had one bug bite and although I took "OFF" I never used it.

Beautiful birds all around the resort.

Loved the spa. I had Gabriella for an 80 minute massage and it was fantastic. I had another Gabriella for an 80 minute facial and it was also fantastic. I would have gone back for more had I had the time. I loved this spa.

We also had the best service -we could not have asked for anything more. We want to give a special thanks to...

Antonio -Pool side
Frederico-Pool side
Miguel-Pool side
Our chairs were always ready in the morning. The checked on us frequently and one morning Antonio brought me coffee because he had seen me drinking a cup the morning before. Doesn't get any better than this.

Nelson and Rodufo at Caona were great!

Jesus at Kaax took great care of us for breakfast and lunch. The hostess at Kaax was terrific too.

Alex at Chiringuito made sure our lunch was perfect and prompt. He always checked to see if everything was all right anytime he saw us in the resort.

Alexjandro at the Hippo bar in the evening always made us feel welcome and waited on us quickly and with a super smile.

Alex-pool aerobics made this activity fun and made all feel included and welcome. Really great guy.

Miquel the sommelier gave an excellent lecture during the wine tasting in the piano bar and always checked on us to see if we wanted any special wine. Go to the wine tasting it is a lot of fun.

Also a special thanks to Allen for finding the beach bag that I wanted. He went way beyond to do this for me.

Take the catamaran it is a nice afternoon activity.

Although there were 2 children at the resort you never heard them. They were extremely well behaved. I do have a little advice-don't bring children to this resort. There is absolutely nothing for them to do.

A note to Zoetry-it would be great if you improved the quality of your house wines.

Room Tip: I really liked having a plunge pool with my room just steps from the ocean.

“very nice resort”

I could write a very long, detailed review but will try to be concise. This is a very nice resort. We stayed 8 nights, Janaury 8th-15th, 2012. This is a place where you go to relax. No nightlife, etc. This is what we were looking for. First of all I am a little surprised they have a 5 diamond rating. I dont think this is a 5 diamond hotel but a pretty solid 4 diamond. Knowing AAA's has compromised its standards, etc over the years the higher rating doesnt shock me, but I could write a page or two about that. The airport pick up is very nice and went off without a hitch. The check in experience was very good. The best part of the hotel is the pool. The service there was extremely attentive. These guys work very hard and do a great job. I did wonder how they handle a full resort out at the pool. Not enough seating. The pool was full most of the time we were there and not exactly sure the occupancy but I know they were 100%. I cant recall passing one employee that didnt acknowledge us. Very rare these days. The food overall is very good. We had some great dishes and a couple of misses, not horrible, just not great. The food at the 4 diamond canoe restaurant is no better than the other resaurants. We only ate there 2 times and it was open every night we were there. The menu looks inviting but the food was not that special. The property is well maintained. The room we were in had a plunge pool, dont waste the extra money on this unless it is in the summer. You wont use it unless its really hot out. It is not heated. The room was large and clean. The air kept the temp acceptable. I wonder how well it works when it is really hot there. The beach was a little disappointing. It is long but not very deep. The ocean was a little rough all the days but one. Lots of seaweed on shore because of this. The one day it was calm it was beautiful. Probably it was the time of the year? But from a service standpoin, I just dont think it is managed very well. Limited seating, one server who had to walk a long way to get drinks, etc. One thing to avoid is the VIP services desk. When you arrive you are told you receive a 200 resort credit. This doesnt mean you get $200 towards your bill, it is $10 off a bottle of wine, $40 off a massage, etc. When you go to this desk, they mostly try to convince you to go to the Dreams hotel for 4 hrs to speak to someone about timeshare/vacation club. Dont even bother picking up the credit. It isnt worth it. I will say I read all the negative reviews about this hotel and frankly these people's expectations are not realistic or they are not very happy people in general. If you dont at least have an enjoyable time here-wow I feel a little sorry for you. We would recommend this resort, and very possibly might go back. I wish it would have been a little closer to Playa.

“Great service but issues”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 18, 2012

Stayed for a long weekend get away and here's the review from our perspective.
Pros: Staff is very friendly and accomodating. Never had a "no" on any request. Restaurant food was very good. Small portions allow for more courses and having the calorie and fat content listed is a nice feature. There is a sushi bar open from noon - 4 pm which is basic but good. Only one pool with one open bar. Staff will "reserve" you a place around pool with or without umbrella, just ask. Plenty of staff members to serve everyone. To review and book other tours in the area just visit the Marina hut and they've got everything available. with such a short stay, we did not leave the property. Everything was kept nice and clean.
Cons: Room was the Angola suite which is located way at the end of property near the tennis court. We had a full day of rain and the suite leaked water something nasty. From the roof along with under the door and window jams. Called maintenance but nothing to be done. It was our last day and night so they didn't offer to move us and we just put towels around to absorb water. Need room service for ice or whatever but remember it is Mexico, so plan 45 minutes for it. The champagne in the room upon arrival was a nice touch but it was not sitting in a bucket of ice or chilled.
Issue: We never received any turn down service in the evening for the first two nights. So on the third night, with heavy rains and we decided to go to dinner at the last minute. I left my coin purse in my back pack on the floor of room which contained about $150 in small bills for tipping. I arrange the money in a special manner and had tipped for room service (ice) earlier in evening. Went to dinner 7:30-9:30 pm and came back to find our room had been "touched up" (the wet towels from rain were gone) and my money was gone. the person left one twenty and 2 fives folded in different manner so I noticed right away as I was going for tip money again. Filed a report that evening but understanding that I know better than to not lock everything up. Moral of the issue is that even in the best of places remember that the room staff is going through all your belongings and they do help themselves.
