We had our last lunch at this restaurant on our last trip to PM. We wished we had discovered it sooner. We loved the beach side views, the friendly service, & the food. We heard that it burned down after our visit. When, I was researching restaurants for this trip, I discovered it had been re-built.
We, my husband, daughter, & her husband, & I ate there at the beginning & the end of this trip to PM. We enjoyed their huge margaritas. Each couple ordered Mariscos Molcajete for two. A combination of shrimp, octopus, squid and fish was simmered in a rich gravy with mushrooms. It was served with grilled Nopalitos & Mexican Scallions draped over the edge of the dish. The molcajete is a basalt stone carved from a single block into a large round dish with 3 short legs. It can be heated to a very high temperate. This meal comes to the table sizzling & stays hot throughout. It is served with tortillas & the usual Mexican sauce. It was absolutely delicious!
The atmosphere, the service, & the food was really special. All four of us will always remember our dinners at La Panza es Primero.
