“La Panza es Primero Is Premier”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 11, 2014

We had our last lunch at this restaurant on our last trip to PM. We wished we had discovered it sooner. We loved the beach side views, the friendly service, & the food. We heard that it burned down after our visit. When, I was researching restaurants for this trip, I discovered it had been re-built.

We, my husband, daughter, & her husband, & I ate there at the beginning & the end of this trip to PM. We enjoyed their huge margaritas. Each couple ordered Mariscos Molcajete for two. A combination of shrimp, octopus, squid and fish was simmered in a rich gravy with mushrooms. It was served with grilled Nopalitos & Mexican Scallions draped over the edge of the dish. The molcajete is a basalt stone carved from a single block into a large round dish with 3 short legs. It can be heated to a very high temperate. This meal comes to the table sizzling & stays hot throughout. It is served with tortillas & the usual Mexican sauce. It was absolutely delicious!

The atmosphere, the service, & the food was really special. All four of us will always remember our dinners at La Panza es Primero.

“Great Food and Service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 18, 2013

We visited this restaurant for lunch while on a snorkeling trip. We had chips and
and refried beans with hot sauce (great). Then we had taquitos and sauce. We had
Blackened Grouper with rice and mixed vegetables for the main course. This was the best tasting Grouper I have ever eaten! The Dos Equis Amber was also great.
Our waitress was Carmen and she provided outstanding service. I highly
recommend this restaurant!

“Delicious and spicy!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 15, 2013

Ate at this place with friends Nov 2013 after shopping in Puerto Morelos for the afternoon. Restaurant is clean and super fun with the Mexican wrestling theme. Food was delicious and the habanero sauce was amazing! Such a great change from the bland food at our resort. I had the Mazatlan enchiladas, shrimp in a creamy chipolte sauce, so good!
I recommend eating here if you are in the area, worth the trip into PM!
For 5 of us with drinks, salad, appetizers the bill was $75 US. Very reasonable!

“Excellente!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 15, 2013 via mobile

I came in oct 2013...had a tacote which was great and we split a meal for two of shrimp, peppers, onions and cheese. Came with tortillas so you basically make your own tacos. Beers were good. Bought a luchador mask as well. 17 dollars us, compared to what the guys in the shops in the square were trying to sell them between 20-30 us dollars.

Great time and great food.

Thanks

“excellent place to eat!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2013

this gem of a restaurant used to be in Cancun, but now one must travel down to Puerto Morolos to enjoy it. it has the same decor of the Cancun place, with the pro-wrestler theme.

i completely enjoyed my chicken enchiladas overlooking the ocean.

great food, great view!
