Owner description: A unique and exciting way to get in touch of the true nature of the Mayan Riviera is on the back of a horse combined with a Cenote swim. We have healthy, well trained horses appropriate for first timers, novice and intermediate riders. Our tours are semi-private consisting of groups up to 12 riders, ensuring that everyone receives personal attention from our friendly, knowledgeable guides. We are located in a very convenient location between Cancun and Playa del Carmen. During the trail ride be ready to spot various species of birds, iguanas, butterflies and eventually spider monkeys and coatis; our guides will give you an interesting and entertaining commentary along the trails while you pass by a local plantation and follow the path that will lead you to visit a deep natural pit or sinkhole -characteristic of Mexico- resulting from the collapse of limestone bedrock that exposes groundwater underneath. We will then remount and head back to the ranch, where at the end of the ride you will be given an opportunity to take a refreshing swim in our open air Cenote and enjoy some cool refreshments.Private tours can be offered for advanced riders upon request. Please do not forget to bring bug spray, sunscreen, closed toe shoes , bathing suit & towel and be ready to enjoy a different way to spend your day.

“Great Experience!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2013

The staff at Bonanza is exceptional. They care about both the riders and their horses. Safety is paramount to them and everyone is strongly encouraged to wear a helmet. Riders are carefully paired with horses based on their prior experience, or lack of it. The ride we took through the jungle was great and we really enjoyed the beach as well. The more experienced riders were allowed to run their horses on the beach if they wanted. We've done horseback rides on previous vacations, but I have to say the Bonanza staff is a cut above the rest!

“Excellent guides. Perfect for the nervous rider.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 6, 2013 via mobile

Had a memorable afternoon here. Very gentle amble through the jungle. Just what we wanted. Fun to ride and then swim in the cenote. Expert, welcoming guides. Loved seeing the spider monkeys. Thank you!

“Fantastic experience and such lovely staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2013

This was the first of many excursions we did whilst on our honeymoon in cancun. We were not disappointed, what a fabulous start to our honeymoon. Being able to ride through the jungle, see so many different species of butterflies, wild monkeys and parrots as well as all the interesting plants and trees. The horses were so well trained and tame and perfect for beginners with no experience and those who ride a lot. We were given so many interesting facts about the Mayans and their heritage and the cenote we swam in was truly stunning and a great way to end our ride. The staff were entertaining and informative and made the trip so much fun. Would highly recommend bonanza ranch to anyone visiting cancun

“Not great for experienced riders”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2013

The newer limited trails are very rough and limited compared to the riding before which was more open. Indeed the jungle is beautiful and the cenotes are an interesting to look at. The tour would be great for a low time rider who wouldn't mind the typical single file slow ride through narrow trails in a pretty area. Refreshments were nice and indeed the staff is fantastic. Thank you Raul and the rest of the gang.

We were on this ride four years ago and the changes have cut down on the freedom of the riding itself. You can't fight progress or changes in Mexican laws. It was fun to ride on the beach and in the surf before though.

Very nice setup and lockers provided for your stuff.

“Fun time!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2013

Added this excursion to our honeymoon package and had a great time riding the horses, with our knowledgable tour guides showing us interesting stuff around us. The swim in the Cenote was refreshing after our quest through the jungle!:)
