“Lovely Break”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 27, 2009

My husband and I enjoyed our stay from the 5th till the 18th of December. We landed very lucky with the weather hot and sunny. The staff were all lovely and friendly with a cheery smile every time you met them. Room we had was great no problems except oneday when the bath leaked one quick phone call and it was dealt with very quickly. The bed was one of the most comfortable hotel beds we have ever slept in. Room service very good. Restaurants all reasonably Le ch. fantastic (good company that night).
Special mention to Victor the barman he never forgets what you were drinking, one very memorable night at Victors bar, all I will say about that is Buzz Ireland you know who you are.

We were there at low occupancy I don't think I would like to be there when it was full.

We had a lovely time at this hotel but overall I would say a 4 star a little more work to bring it up to a 5 star but I am sure they will manage that eventually.

Sorry but my review is slightly more negative, after a long flight and a short transfer to the Sensatori we were greeted with towels and a drink.prompt check-in then off to the room.Musty and damp, but room clean and a good size,on some days no hot water and came out yellow in the hot tub? A few short power cuts that were blamed on there electricity provider.l would say the standard of (building) finish all over the resort was not five star the light fittings in ceiling rough, the seals around windows air conditioning units poor and rusty-patio door would not close etc.If you do not have the air con the floor will become wet and as they are marble it becomes an ice rink. I have never seen so much seaweed or sea grass on a beach in sections that you could walk- and the other full of excess building material in the form of rock at the waters edge which you cannot swim in.You can find a better beach, walk left towards the Pink house and go past the naturist hotel a few hundred yards up and that will look like a Caribbean beach.

Staff, they can not do enough for you, every one had a smile on thier face and nothing too much trouble,(Tip) leave the hard working cleaners a small amount every other day and you wil get all the little extras, also the waiters and the service improves on an already observant team. The restuarants were ok but some had the same set menus for the 2 weeks we were there,If you want to go on a trip get ready for the big money, day's out can cost between $102-to $150 US dollars and similar for the spa. They have a small shop at the resort in the lobby and on some items check the price ie a packet of ciggaretts around £3-$67 Pesos-a packet of crisps $150 Pesos around £7.50?Unless you go out there is not alot to do apart from eat drink and sunbath(can only take so much),No water sports unless you go elsewhere apart from a canoe in a group or minimum 2 people, then you have to pay federal tax $4 US or $40 Peso sjust to sit on the water, We have been to mexico before and stayed in a better location, better hotel and a more reasonable price, this hotel is in the middle on nowhere.
Happy holiday

Flight brilliant in Premium.Transfer very good and quick.First impressions lovely.Attitude of Guest Relations very poor initially, but having stood our ground we won the battle!!
1st day we thought WOW, service was amazing, Food was lovely, Pool Butler in Premium great.Weather superb beach wasnt bad at all, and if you walk to the left to the Pink House there,s a clear patch of sea that you CAN swim in.SO all lovely jubbly! The only problem was , and is (still here) the rooms are damp all the time, everything from all our clothes ,shoes , bags and even the bedding is WET!!! Yuk yuk yuk
The whole of the first week was lovely, the food was good everywhere, except Tapaz that was awful.
Then we got to the second week, OH DEAR ---------First week was only 35% occupancy, but this week, is full and the Hotel cannot cope, and really has no idea.Everything has gone to pot!!!! Food service, everything,EVEN the weather has gone gone gone, 5 days of awful and two of them chuckink it down, flooding. If were lucky we,ll get our flight out of here tomorrow if the uk airports open.
So ,in conclusion, its only in general ,not bad here, nothing more

Just got home yesterday and felt i had to write a review having seen some of the negative ones.
The hotel was top notch, spotlessly clean and everyone very friendly and helpful. The hotel has thought of everything and i wasn;t disappointed. The rooms where big and spotless, if you upgrade to premium you even get to choose which scent gets sprayed in your room and on your pillows! The food was beautiful and there was always something that even i could eat (im a fussy eater). The staff couldn't have been nicer and after the 1st night the bar man knew that i was a girl who liked a woowoo and offered me one verynight after that!
I went with a male friend but i would say that the hotel in a very sensual one and best suited to couples (it has a see through door on the shower and toilet) every room also has a hot tub!

All in all this was an amazing hotel who caters for your every need, throw in a night out at CocoBongo's and you will have a holiday to remember!

just got back from the sensatori in riviera maya, after many all inclusive holidays i was a little dubious to find out what there definition of all inclusive was going to be,we wasnt to be disappointed,we found the staff couldnt do enough for you and anyone who has put a negative review about staff should check out the current standards of customer service in the uk....which as a brit im embarrassed about, you can drink anything you want at the many bars and restaurants including the likes of Jack Daniels, many times you dont need to ask for a refil as when my beer got low i was greeted with another cold one....even if i was poolside or on the beach.
Beach is the only negative thing i will say,its a little rocky as you walk in the surf, however,a short walk down and its fine....and that is the only negative we and the many friends we made there had.
All staff were friendly and attentive, how easy is it to smile and say hello, once again us brits could a thing who work with the public, thoroughly enjoyed the food in all restaurants and the daily beach bbq if you didnt fancy getting changed for lunch.
I intend to go back with my family for sure

We stayed here with a wedding party the first week of december 2009. The rooms made a great first impression and we were looking forward to exploring the rest of the facility.

What we found was very disapointing. For a new resort, only open a year and a half, the amount of work crews that were taking things apart to rebuild was astounding. There had to be at least 8 crews in different spots, POUNDING on cement ALLL day, you could hardly get away from the noise, EVEN on the beach.

Many couples in our group had problems with their rooms not being made up until after 6 at night, so they would be getting ready for dinner and the maid would come and interrupt. we also had many problems with getting our fridges stocked with water, sometimes it would be, sometimes not. And occassionally room service would show up, depending on the day/hour you called, it seemed pretty random to us.

Normally I am not a complainer, but when you are paying these prices I think you have a right to be pretty picky. IF they had advertised this and priced it as a 3-4 star, i would have NO problem, but a 5 star this place is NOT, it is totally overpriced and the staff is not up to 5 star standard at all.

We also had massive problems with getting OFF the resort. For a bus, they would charge us $15 each (times 10 people= $150 USD)to get us to Cancun, BUT on our return trip we could get the WHOLE bus for 220 pesos (approx $18 USD), a HUGE difference in price. We beleived that the taxis that operate out of this resort have to pay perhaps the gate guys and concierge for the priviledge of coming onto the resort property. thats the only reason we could see for the massive price differences. You expect to get the mexican screw around a bit, but this was outrageous. AND if the concierge quotes you a price, He is lying. The taxi driver will demand a higher price.

The night time entertainment was fine, but again NOT 5 star quality, and if you decide to take a break and head to their very gorgeous spa, be aware that the beautiful spa soothing sounds music competes directly with the music from whomever is performing that night. Not so nice for the price you pay. ($400 USD for couples massage) Although the therapists where great. I would ask when the rehersal is and book around it.

Just got back from this hotel - spent 10 days with wife and 11 month old baby.
Short transfer from Cancun airport (Corona has never tasted so good as it did on the coach - on sale from the driver for about £2!)

The first room we were put in was in the family block and was dark and damp with no sea view (we had requested and paid for one) so I complained and we got moved to the premium section. The room was large and the a/c worked very well. Better sea view but still not a full sea view (aparently to get a 'proper' sea view you have to request an 'ocean view (as opposed to a sea view) room')..
Slighly wierd as large hot tub in the main bedroom , we didn't use it though as it would probably make the room very damp!

Restaurants generally excellent but the mexican one was a bit of a let down - too bland and not what we expected.

Many lovely huge clean pools and pool bars, all spirits and drinks including champagne included on AI.

Evening entertainment fairly tame and started quite late but didn't take over as it does in some hotels.
Overall service from all staff brilliant - all genuinely very friendly and did care. 24 hour room service (included in the AI package) was excellent.

Kids area was fantastic - loads of toys available for her to play with and even borrow to take to the room for free.
Kids club looked fun - the kids there looked like they were having a great time.

Down sides - very isolated so felt a little trapped after a week.
No sea view as outlined above.
Wife's white bikinini turned green after few days - must be the chlorine in the pool (we hope!)
Beach area not great - rocky and uninviting rough water - the red flag was up for the whole 10 days.
Food fairly repetitive (but there are 6 restaurants so you could vary it quite well).

Overall had a great time and would recommend this hotel AS LONG AS YOU ARE NOT EXPECTING SOME KIND OF 5 STAR BOUTIQUE HOTEL (as it is advertised as) as it is not this - it is a very nice 4+ star and as long as you expect this and don't pay too much to go then you'll have a good time. I hope.
