“Nice pool villas”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 6, 2013

Stayed here in Jan/Feb 2013 unfortunately booked a standard room which was accessed up a steep flight of approx 25 steps. Nice room but a look out on the patio showed a street view ,rooms were over the top of shops or an Indian restaurant. we luckily were able to upgrade to a pool villa. We then enjoyed our 11 night stay. The staff are very courteous and made our stay memourable. Beds are unbelievably hard. There is a very nice pool with sunbeds and the beach is just across the road (2 mins). Nice G&T's at the mini bar out on the street.

Descent hotel with a nice pool, and a small child pool.

Staff was not so service oriented and felt mostly boring. Overall pretty nice. Breakfast had self service. Ocean just across the road. Very central in terms of restaurants

We arrived at night and were greeted and shown to your typical Thai shiny floored hotel room. The bed was fairly uncomfortable and the shower was warm but not hot. Let's just say the room was O.K. The breakfast the next day wasn't very good. A bizarre mix of fried rice, watermelon, chicken sausages swimming in luke warm water and processed ham. Toast and tea had to suffice. I love to eat the local food for lunch and dinner but not for breakfast. The pool was small but clean and wifi was free. The location is really close to the beach but for 4000THB a night you might expect to be on the beach.

The main problem was the noise. Within 100 metres of the resort is "The Yellow Bar" which allows it's customers to select their own choice of songs on youtube to be played at high volume till 3am at the earliest. I like to go out and drink on holiday but even after 10 beers at 3am in the morning it was impossible to sleep. My wife and I took on a 'if you can't beat them, join them' attitude and on the last two nights of our stay we went to the bar. I imagine if you were with kids it really would be a nightmare.

Room Tip: As near reception as possible to escape the noise.

Chose to stay here for a few nights on arrival into Thailand to get adjusted to the heat and get over the jet lag. Low season price reasonable, wouldn't want to pay high season price

We weren't disappointed, the poolside villa was very spacious and clean, the bed was huge and very very comfortable, air con was slightly underpowered but free drinking water was a nice touch.

Bathroom again large and interesting 'pebble floor' but along with other reviewers the shower was only tepid, if you ran it very slowly then the water was warm.

The pool was nice and clean but the sun loungers were hard to move about and the space round the pool was limited, also access to the pool was up some steps which was a bit inconvenient as the foliage got in the way!

We did hear some noise from the bar which is at the rear of the resort but not enough to justify ear plugs.

Staff were not as friendly as other places in Thailand though slightly more aloof.

Only american breakfast was available, which was standard Thai ABF, nothing to rave about (even in a 5* resort a nicely cut up hot dog sausage is still a nicely cut up hot dog sausage!!)

Bang Tao was very quite but we did visit in the low season, things were quite spread out, but around the Andaman Seaside are the normal tourist shops, restaurants and massage shops, we liked it being quite and the road was pleasant to walk along. The beach was OK but you can get a lot better in Thailand.

We've been to Phuket before and as before its a place I think that's lost its charm, too many tourists perhaps. Wouldn't come here for 2 weeks but totally fine for a short stay and we would return for that purpose.

My and my family (mum, dad and younger sister) stayed here for 1 week whilst at thailand. we also stayed in patong and rawai but enjoyed bang tao the best! Andaman seaside resort is very close to the beach you literally walk out the gate and then take 15 steps and you have hit the sand. There is a building in front so there are no beach views but because it is so close you don't news too see it from your room, you just simply walk there. The beach has nice blue, flat water and regular sand. There is a baby elephant that gets walked up and down the beach and you can pat it or ride it for about $5. A man dressed as winnie the poah also walks up and down the beach selling ice creams. He is very friendly and lights up your day. The resort is very clean and the staff and quite friendly. The pool is not massive but being a teenage who enjoys swimming with my sister it was defiantly big enough. The breakfast was basic but good. There was arrange of things each day like eggs ,toast ,pancakes ,fruit, sausages and sometimes like hot chips and spring rols and random but good things like that. It suited us just fine. The hotel is a short walk from many restaurants on the streets and the tons that line the beach. It was quite magical to be able to sit and eat dinner on a table but on the sand over looking the sunset and water. There were also lots of bars so Mum and Dad enjoyed having a drink at those while my sister and I got fresh juices. The convince store down stairs also has an ice cream station with cheap ice cream that is good and by the end of our stay we had tried every flavour! Would defiantly recommend this hotel!

Room Tip: We stayed in the rooms closest to the road and they were good but the villas by the pool also looked...

I really liked the hotel when you consider what you are paying. The best things about it are:
1. Friendly staff
2. Free breakfast
3. Very close to a nice beach
4. Quiteish resort (apart from the tut tut with the lights and bass box).
5. Free drinks on your arrival
6. Nice pool

The downsides are that the family rooms look out on to electricity pylons and there is no hot running water (apart from very old electric showers) in the room.

Taxis to the resort were ok, but more expensive going back.

We stayed in October 2011. Deluxe villa with terrace overlooking the pool, great for pre-breakfast reading or an evening relaxing. Room was clean and comfortable. Close to all restaurants, bars and shops but fairly quiet in October. Friendly service. We rented a car and parked it inside the gates. Beach is just across the road. In October there are few jet skis, we didn't get the rain which stayed in the North. We liked the place so much and were fully enjoying volunteering at Soi Dog Foundation so we decided to stay a second week. They maintained our special negotiated rate for the rest of our stay.

Room Tip: Try booking through an agent that negotiates rates for late reservations.
