This lodge is truly an exotic oasis. First, Traveling over lonely highways, passing herds of camels being led by their nomadic owners. Then down a dusty road, through gullies filled with wild baboons you arrive at the lodge, it is settled in along the river. Smiling attendants greet you with wet washcloths to wipe away the grime. The bungalows are quite spacious and well appointed. Ours had a view to the river where we could watch the Marabou storks preen in the sunshine. Meals are served in an open air dining area, with a Samburu warrior to keep the monkeys away from the tables. All of the meals we ate there were very good. It was a real treat to have Steven make us one of his special salads. All of the staff was attentive to our needs and were courteous and friendly. All of the game drives to the surrounding areas were very good and the sunsets were spectacular. I only wish we could have spent more time there.
Asante sana Sarova Shaba.
