“Not a 4* hotel”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 20, 2013 via mobile

We are currently staying in La Pinta Beach Club. It is a huge disappointment . We booked it as it was rated 4* which it definitely is not, it is a 2* at best. We paid €385 with booking.com for a studio, room only for one week. On arrival the first thing we saw in our shabby, tired room was a dead cockroach in the empty fruit bowl. As I am terrified of bugs, I went to the RCI office and told the girl there. She said there was nothing she could do as 'they are in every apt but don't worry as the apts are being fumigated tomorrow' I then asked for the Wifi code as booking.com had said there was Free WiFi. The girl said it was not free it was €6 a day . I asked who I should complain to as I was not happy about the condition of the apt or the lack of wifi . She was very nice and said to write a letter but that there was nothing that could b done. I do not complain lightly but I really feel this place doesnot deserve its rating . The pool area on first arrival looks lovely but as you are there you notice the broken glass and dirt in general . Having previously stayed in spotless 4* accommodation such as Reveron Plaza and Noelia Sur I would not place this on the same category

We stayed here on a groupon deal in September 2012 with our 20month old son. We arrived and was given a ground floor apartment with access to the pool area. Apartment was a bit dated but was fine and had a tv and DVD player. The bedroom was quite small as we had our sons cot in there but that did not pose too much of a problem.
We absolutely loved the hotel, the pools are lovely and our son went in both pools and enjoyed it very much. The grounds of the hotel are lovely and the restaurant by the pool served a lovely buffet lunch, so many different things to choose from plus a huge paella which was made in front of us. Hotel is in perfect location, few steps from the beach and the views are amazing!! Beach is accessible through a few steps and gate near the pool. Beach is lovely and the sea very calm so good for toddlers. We ate lunch in a restaurant on the front which was nice. The night time entertainment was fabulous for the little ones. The same guy entertained the kids each night and he was great and he also did a mini disco which my son loved!! Each night an act was on, a fab magician, acrobats, eagle show which I loved and was able to hold the eagle and have my picture took. We ate out every night and always tried to get back for the act and mini disco. One of the best entertainment programmes that I have come across in a hotel.
We had no problem with noise, yes you can hear all the bars in the harbour if you sit on the terrace but once the door was shut and we went to bed, it was fine. It was lovely to sit on the terrace at night after our son went to bed. He just loved the holiday, I was so pleased it worked out well. Only downside of apartment is the terrace doors cannot be locked from the outside which defeats the object of being able to go to and from the pool from the apartment. We left it unlocked but shut and made sure valuables were locked in the safe and didnt stray far and we had no problems but I think they need to address this issue.
A must see is a band called soundchaser. They play at Harley's bar and the in and out bar and they are an amazing rock band. My little boy loved them and stood in front of them clapping and dancing the whole time, well worth finding out where they are playing and going to see them.
A tip for a fantastic restaurant is a little Chinese on one of the side streets up from the torviscas beach, Burger King at bottom on corner, walk up this street and it is on the left 3/4 the way up. We ate there 3 times, you get a free bottle of wine and the food is amazing, the service spot on and they really look after you and give you complimentary shots after your meal. Very good with my little boy too. Also coeur de fillet on the right is a great place to eat too, best tiramisu I have ever had!!
Part of the groupon deal was a tour of the hotel and their membership. It's not timeshare, it's part of RCI and we were definitely interested, it just wasn't the right time for us but will definitely look at it in a couple of years or so as we would love to go back.
Thank you La Pinta for an amazing stay!

Room Tip: Poolside is best if you have children

We stayed here for a week (14/12---21/12/2012). First impressions. Staff very nice. Not much in the lobby, a few seats and 2vacant shops. It is also the only place where you can avail of the free wifi. We stayed on the ground floor in a two bedroom apt. Nice size rooms, one ensuite. Dining area, and lounge area. Full kitchen, but a bit dated. Tv and DVD in the lounge, you can rent arDVDs from reception. Bathroom could do with cleaning up, not that they were dirty, just need regrouting around the tiles. The Chambermaids do a great job and the place was always clean when we came back. Nice view of the Beach from the balcony....... My advice if you are offered a room anywhere near the right hand corner of the hotel (eg: room numbers 035-039,135-139 and so forth)steer clear if you want a nights sleep. No noise from the hotel but from the NIGHTCLUB across the street. We were told it only happens on Friday and Saturday..... It happens every night of the week and goes on till the early hours (5:00)in the morning. If you want access to the beach use the backgate entrance with your card, only bad thing it closes at 8:00pm and then you must use the 87 steps back up to reception.

Just returned from a wonderful holiday at La Pinta. the complex is in an ideal position overlooking the small harbour at Puerto Colon.
Firstclass apartment cleaned each day to a high standard by very friendly staff
. The pool area had everything needed, we were entertained each morning by the people waiting around for the sunbeds to be unlocked at 9am so that they could put a towel out and then go for breakfast even though we never saw all of the beds in use.
We never used the onsite restaurant as there were many good deals in the area with 3 course meals at less than £8.
We went through RCI and had a welcome pack of tea, coffee, milk, fruitjuice, spread, bread, water, a huge bowl of fruit and a bottle of wine on arrival

We have just holidayed again at this hotel and again we have been very pleased. The siting of this hotel is excellent, right on the sea front and you can just go down a few steps, walk across the walkway and you are on the beach! The housekeeping at the hotel is second to none, the rooms were thoroughly cleaned daily (which is needed in hot climates).Currently there is an on-going programme of refurbishment but this did not affect us at all. Even though the hotel seemed full, we had no problem finding sun beds around the pool which was nice.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2012

Me and a couple of friends stayed in the La Pinta during the middle of September, here is what we as a group thought.

We were originally booked in at the Hotel Panorama however on the day prior to leaving the UK we received a call from our booking agent to advise us that the Panorama was fully booked and because of which they were going to upgrade us to the Hotel La Pinta on a full board basis as a goodwill gesture. Our first thoughts on this were great! I mean come on, who wouldn't want to be upgraded to a nicer hotel on a better board basis?! However during the course of the actual holiday we sort of wished we had of stayed at the Panorama afterall!!.

First thoughts of the hotel - On arriving at the hotel and having our first look around we found it looked a little dated on the outside with chipped paint, old signs etc however on the inside we were very impressed, it was fresh, clean and modern looking.

The Room - No complaints in terms of the room, beds were quite comfy, bathroom was a decent size, living area was ample with comfy chairs, Kitchen was small but had all you needed, two big balconies and our favourite part of the room......its very own bar!! Maids came in 6 out of 7 days also to clean which was good.

Pool Area - Was clean and looked very nice HOWEVER I don't know how early you had to go down to get a space as EVERY morning the whole pool area was pretty much full by 9am so if you want to relax by the pool then get down early!

The Staff - If we are honest apart from the man on reception during the day (grey spiky hair if this helps!) we found all the rest of the staff to be rude and arrogant. The worst of the lot had to be the head waiter in the main restaurant during the evenings, he thought he was working in the Ritz however unlike someone at the Ritz he had zero class! On many occasions he got very angry with us for ordering more than one water stating "its only one water per meal time" however reception clarified you could have multiple.

Food - The food was brilliant with plenty of choice, could not fault it at all!

Other guests - We as a group of friends usually have no problems with other guests when we go abroad due to us being quite a social bunch however in this hotel that didn't seem to be the case. The La Pinta is only advertised by tour operators in Spain, Holland and Germany and because of there was only a few British people in the hotel. Throughout the days we were there we encountered a number of people who seemed to go out of their way to be rude to us! From two dutch men stood in a lift and refusing to move out of the entrance of it so we could get in (we had to push our way through) to one German man who thought non of us could speak German and called us "Dirty English Islanders" (how he got a shock when we said "danke!!") we had it all. We also spoke to two Scottish couples who were there with their young children and they also claimed that they had received similar and how they felt uncomfortable due to the atmosphere! British people be warned!!

Location - The hotel is situated in a part of Tenerife called Costa Adeje near Las Americas. The area is great with loads of things to see and do such as Siam Waterpark, Las Americas Karting, decent shops and nice beaches. There is also good nightlife in this part of Tenerife with chilled bars in Costa Adeje and lively bars in Las Americas.

Overall we enjoyed our visit to Tenerife and would go back however not to the La Pinta!
