While we had heard good reports about this tour, our expectations were tempered by the fact that Herradura is part of a large liquor conglomerate. We were lucky that we caught the final 3pm tour on a Saturday and there were only 6 of us. The "hacienda" is impressive and one can see the signs of "big money" behind this operation.
Our tour guide spent a great deal of effort trying to sell the story that Herradura hasn't changed the production methods established many years ago but the monstrous facility seems to contradict that fact? This is a high production facility and why would anyone expect things not to have changed?
There is a great deal to be learned on this tour and it is a good starting point prior to trying one of the smaller boutique type distillery tours.
