I was in Long Island for work together with my girlfriend for 5 days,, Mike (one of the owners) is a wonderful person and the staff is amazing. the food is like home made Jared is a very good chef and always a helpful person, the facilities are very nice and confortable.The resort is very well located in Salt Ponds and if you look in the map is in the center of the island, we took a trip down south to Gordon's and believe me that worth it even it looks far, the people of the island is so friendly and the sights and places sometimes give you the feeling that the time just stop, on the road there are a couple of little bars so you can stop and have a cold beer.the beaches are very beautiful and some of them are only accesible by boat, in other words still virgin!!!..we need to ome back to Long Islad for a sea glass trip soon, and obviouslly we are going to stay in this place. Thanks Mike for your help and assistance to Diane, we'll see you soon!!

Had another great trip to Long Island, Bahamas! Mike, Jackie & the staff were great as always. The food prepared by Jared & Maxine was outstanding. Some other places to visit for a cold drink & conch salad are Kenny's at Sea Side Village & Maxs Conch Bar. Love going to LI and I'll go again in a few months.

We were only able to stay here for a few days, but we wish it could be more! The owners are extraordinarily kind and gracious. Mike (one of the owners) was willing to make dinner for us when we could not find anything open anywhere else, even though the restaurant was technically closed. He even worked around my being a vegetarian and I never felt like I was lacking for food. In addition he was a great help in deciding where to go during our stay here. That is something that's really important here as the island itself does not have the best road signs and it is not always clear where things are or what things are actually interesting and not just hyped up. Mike helped us find great things to do and we were never disappointed at the end of the day.

Also, the other owner was incredibly helpful on the phone before we arrived. When she said she would email something she did so immediately. We didn't know where to rent a car and she told us she would take care of it for us. (And she followed through wonderfully.)

The wifi here works great and is completely free. (We have found that in many places the wifi doesn't stick or takes forever to work, that is NOT the case here.) Also, it was nice to be able to kayak (and it was also free), and wash our clothes. Not to mention that the beds were WONDERFUL. They were far better than the beds at the Sheraton on Nassau. Apparently the owners get mattresses from the US because they are far more comfortable than the ones made in the Bahamas. (Most other hotels seem to use Bahamian mattresses.)

I went there with my sister for Christmas. Being from Paris, neither of us had our driver licence; big mistake if you want to enjoy the island properly, because you really need a car. Yet Mike spontanely asked us if we wanted to visit the island with his family visiting, and so we joined in on a day trip, drove around the island, which is really worth the trip. We had asked for a resort view as it was cheaper, but since the hotel wasn't full when we arrived, we were upgraded to an ocean view, which is amazing btw, for the same price!! And this keeps going on and on: the restaurant is closed on mondays, and we got there a monday, but the staff cooked something for us so we wouldn't have to wander around the island to find something after an exhausting journey.
We decided to shorten our stay as we had friends in Nassau, and Mike was very friendly about it, helping us call Bahamasair to change our flights and providing a car to get us to the airport as the taxis were busy, for the same rate as a local taxi.
If that wasn't enough, the resort in itself is great. There are no words to describe the feeling of having a huge breakfast on the patio, staring at the breathtaking Carribean sea. The rooms are just the right size, and very clean, with a mini fridge, AC, a TV etc. Wifi is available for free everywhere on the property. There are lounging chairs by the pool to enjoy the view. The food is good. And the rates of the rooms are ridiculously cheap, especially compared to those of Nassau. The extra flight is worth getting out of the hassle and unsafe athmosphere of Nassau, even though it is kind of off the beaten path and may not be for you if you are looking for tons of shopping.

Overall, I would say: definitely go there, relax and explore. But rent a car!!
