We stayed for one night through a Groupon deal so paid £99 for accommodation, three course meal, access to spa and breakfast. I upgraded to a Heritage Suite for an extra £30 which was well worth the money and stayed in the Catherine Parr suite which is huge and a fantastic room. Very comfortable and clean and included a complimentary bottle of wine in the room.
If you go with a Groupon voucher, be aware that there are two menus, the Al a Carte menu and a cheaper house menu. If you choose from the house menu, your three courses are covered by your voucher, but if you choose from the a la carte menu, then as soon as you exceed £25 then you need to pay the remainder, so Groupon basically gives you a £25 credit in the restaurant.
The food, even from the house menu, was excellent. The service was a little slow, but we weren't in any rush so it really didn't matter. Nevertheless, we were given two glasses of champagne by way of an apology for the delay between our main course and desert. This was done without us saying anything, we didn't ask where our desserts were, they realised themselves that they had been a little slow (about half an hour between main course and desert).
Breakfast was lovely with a good varied menu all cooked to order.
Staff are very good, polite and helpful....We stayed for one night through a Groupon deal so paid £99 for accommodation, three course meal, access to spa and breakfast.
