“Nice Decent Hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 19, 2012

Stayed here cos had a project at Pasir Gudang Industrial, this got to be the most decent of all hotels around the area. The room I got was bit small with a nice balcony overlooking the golf course. The shower is nice and powerful but a bit small bathroom. The inclusive buffet breakfast was decent with some local and standard fares.

I really like the Chinese Restaurant on the ground floor, can remember the name, but the food is very good. Also a Japanese restaurant next to the Chinese restaurant.

There is a swimming which is semi-indoor which is covered, so you can swim during the regular tropical storms. There is also a Spa (located adjacent to the Chinese restaurant) with massage services, but i didnt get to try it.

Overall, decent for the price you are paying, its a good place to stay if you are visiting the industrial area or exploring this part of Johor for a day or 2.

Slight hiccup on check in, could not find res, but I had only booked via Agoda the previous night.. This was the cheapest rate, much better than their published rate.. Had no doubles left but said they would push 2 twins together... I would not have noticed..

The room was large and clean, nice balcony overlooking golf course, could see SG from it.

Nice flat screen TV, a lot of Malay/Chinese channels but had BBC world news and Fox Movies premium, so that was good for me.

Bed was nice, nice clean bedroom, with separate aircon unit inside, the sofa was actually a sofa bed, sink and fridge in living room area.

There was plenty of hot water, and of a good pressure in the shower...

I have to say it exceeded my expectations, and I had a lovely stay.

I requested another pillow and set of towels from housekeeping and it was promptly delivered, the same as the iron and board I requested before checkout.

Breakfast was plentiful and catered for Malay/Asian palette as well as western..

The pool looked nice, but I did not have time to use, there were also some courts and a gym room.

I felt secure, and I am sure my hire car did too. It is close enough to JB sentral for convenience, yet far enough away to have plenty of room and feel relaxed, you would ideally need a car if you have stuff to do in JB..

We requested to check out at 1330 and this was fine and without charge..

We all enjoyed our stay and shall be returning again when we need to stop in Johor Bahru..

Room Tip: I wouldn't have less than a deluxe room... The Junior suite's sofa is a sofabed...

Book the hotel thru Agoda since its more cheaper. The check in experience was ok. But the some staff was indifferent towards me. Does'nt feel welcome.

I check in Junior Suite. The room was spacious & clean. However, it did not meet my expectation of typical Suite if compared to other hotel. The furniture, barthroom quite basic. The bed also very simple one & hard. Each bed was given only one pillow. One thing for sure if you come with family this might be ok because its spacious.

We got free breakfast which is just ok. Food was average but flies was a problem. Should improve the quality of the food. Bathroom was spacious.

Forget to mention this hotel offers spa's, swimming pool, gym.. This interest me. Despite all the comments I might stay here if i have to be here for a long time. :)

Pro's :
Cheap if book thru agents (agoda.com)
Spacious room (junior Suite)
Own veranda.

Con's:
Publish rate or walk in rate very high.
Room was not so homy. (need to make the room lighten up & freshing up)
Cold Aircond (centralise). Numbering of the room confuse us..
Flies when having my breakfast & need to improve quality of the food.

Went for a church camp at this hotel. As it was a new hotel, it was clean and decently maintained and had very friendly staff.

The facilities are very basic with 2 small pools under shelter. There are only 2 cafes, 1 mini-mart (for snacks and amenities) and a small spa (but it did not accept credit card payment yet).

According to my friends who stayed in rooms with 2 single-sized beds, there rooms were much larger than the rooms with queen-sized beds, as theirs had a TV area with a sofa bed.

The nearest mall is 15-minutes drive away, but would not be worth a visit unless you are looking for a supermarket.

It is probably more suited to cater to golfers instead.
